The occupy movement started out well enough. It was a statement about the crime on Wall St.. But they never really organized a real program of action that might change anything. The best thing they could have done is to address the criminal investment practices in Congress.
It became a street party, with cops undermining the movement by ushering all of the homeless into these encampments. Then citing crime and filth as a reason to break up the crowd.
From there it moved across the nation with any and all 'movements' usurping control of the 'Occupy' moniker.
IMO, the difference between the Teaparty and the Occupy movements is that the former was well funded by the Koch Bros, and existed to disrupt everything that the 'black bastard' in the White House worked toward. The latter was a bunch of kids who didn't bother to vote, but just wanted to voice an opinion. No different than Kaepernick or the BLM.
