Covid is far from over. We're going to have another spike, hopefully with a new variant that is weaker still.

A good friend called today to let me know that she was sick as a dog a couple of weeks ago. 70 years old with co morbidities. Same for her husband. They've been taking all of the necessary precautions, but allowed an unmasked appliance repair guy in a few weeks ago.

I was surprised, because I always wear a mask upon entering a customer's home. She was really ill with a fever and O2 in the crapper.

It seems to have stayed out of her lungs, so it was probably Omicron. They're vaxed and boosted, so she avoided hospitalization. If not, with her diabetes and hbp, she might be in the ICU.

We'll get another wave by summer's end.

True, but sociologically, the course is set. Any adults not vaccinated now won't be. Any one who doesn't understand the basics of common sense pandemic procedures by now is either too stupid to learn or insane.

Agree. If they want to die, or kill loved ones, so be it.

The problem is the hospitals. My GF says things have leveled off, but we're going to see overcrowding again.

She's on the other side of it by now, but O2 is still only 94. I'm still masked in public.

I attended a black funeral over the weekend. Standing room only. Dear, dear friend of mine passed at 81 from cancer.

99% of those in attendance were masked.

Go figure.

That's basically what it's come down to; they are on their own. If we have another surge, then set up Trump Tents for the voluntarily unvaxxed.

I find it odd that we aren't hearing about health insurance premiums? Maybe the Feds have been reimbursing them for all of the Covid expenditures?

No doubt that gets into law since the fucking insurance companies only main goal is to take our money and never pay it out. They'd do it if they could.

It was supposed to be a call to action and an uprising against the government. It was supposed to demonstrate that COVID restrictions will not be accepted. None. Anywhere. Ever. Including masks, vaccines, indoor restrictions, and since they're Republicans, hand washing.

It was supposed to demand that all of the 1/6 insurrectionists be forgiven. No outstanding charges, no incarceration, no fines, and since they're Trumpists, no high school diplomas.

It bombed.
