If the only option is 110 years or time served, unfortunately I'd say 110 years. 110 years is too long, but time served (2 years) is way too short. He killed 4 people and as the judge said: "I accept and respect what the defendant has said ... but he made a series of terrible decisions — reckless decisions," the judge said.

Also, apparently he had a chance to make plea deal with prosecutors and chose to roll the dice.

King said in the statement that her office initiated plea negotiations "but Mr. Aguilera-Mederos declined to consider anything other than a traffic ticket."

The governor has the power to grant clemency or cummute his sentence to time served. I vote time served.

Time served is way too short. Truck drivers are held to a higher standard than automobile drivers for good reason. He made "a series of reckles decisions" while piloting a 30,000 pound instrument of death. It's unfortunate that he has to get what amounts to a life sentence, but 2 years is not even close to justice.

There should be no conviction at all for an actual accident that didn't involve gross criminal negligence.
Shit happens, and everybody eventually dies of or from something.

Colorado. There but for the grace of God....

Should people who give someone covid by not masking and not vaxxing go to prison if the person who gets covid dies?

.
Methinks the dead would say ... FOREVER

WHY DOES EVERYONE FORGET THE VICTIMS ... I KNOW ... BECAUSE THEY'RE DEAD AND CAN'T SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.

I can't believe someone as needy and overly emotional as you was ever in the military. Did you serve two years or four?

Stupidity isn't a crime. The driver was stupid and ill-trained, not reckless. OTOH, I agree that two years for four deaths of manslaughter is too short.

What is your suggestion? Four?

What reckless decisions did he make? As far as I can tell the only mistake he may or may not have made was not using the runaway trunk ramp. The main question then is did he even see or know it was there? People die in unavoidable car wrecks all the time should we jail all the survivors involved?

Saw that some truckers are refusing to enter Colorado in protest of the sentence. I for one think the company should share the blame, for not training this guy well enough before sending him on a more difficult route.
