Poor Joe...He's declining rapidly.... https://www.foxnews.com/media/biden...ore-world-leaders-than-do-whole-goddamn-lives
Would be appropriately small minded of him if he did it from the inauguration stage after taking the oath.Any money bets that Trump will order it to full staff when he rolls into the WH? Minus Melania, of course. Too bad he pissed off Lips Loomer, otherwise he could have celebrated a bit the night of the 20th.
President-elect Donald Trump lashed out Friday over plans for the U.S. flag to be flown at half-staff during his upcoming inauguration to honor the late President Jimmy Carter ‒ but the White House said it isn't reconsidering the order.
U.S. flags have been flying at half-staff at all federal properties including the Capitol since Dec. 29, when President Joe Biden ordered the measure of respect following Carter's death for 30 days ‒ the prescribed federal timeframe for lowering flags after a president's death since 1954.
Trump will be sworn in as the 47th president on Jan. 20, which falls within the 30-day window.
"The Democrats are all 'giddy' about our magnificent American Flag potentially being at 'half mast' during my Inauguration," Trump said in a post on Truth Social, incorrectly using the term that refers to flags being flown halfway up the mast on a ship at sea, not a flag pole. "They think it’s so great, and are so happy about it because, in actuality, they don’t love our Country, they only think about themselves."

True and that's Donald Trump to a "T".Would be appropriately small minded of him if he did it from the inauguration stage after taking the oath.
Nope. That's what I meant by "appropriately". Suits him perfectly. Can you think of any instances where he isn't small-minded though?
Keep reaching. His comment was a complaint, pure and simple.Hmm... That quote from Trump seems more like someone recognizing that leftists have great joy in seeing the flag at half-staff/mast during his inauguration rather than "fuming" over it.
IIRC, the tradition is half-mast for 30 days. Will Trump cut that short, at least over the WH, in your opinion?Hmm... That quote from Trump seems more like someone recognizing that leftists have great joy in seeing the flag at half-staff/mast during his inauguration rather than "fuming" over it.
Possibly, but not "fuming"... That representation is, shall we say, "exaggerated"? No. we should say "reaching"... to keep the same terminology here. Noting that someone else is ecstatic about something is not "fuming" about it... It can be a complaint, but "fuming" it is not.Keep reaching. His comment was a complaint, pure and simple.
No. I do not think so.IIRC, the tradition is half-mast for 30 days. Will Trump cut that short, at least over the WH, in your opinion?
How petty do you think Trump is on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being very fucking petty? I'm guessing 10. Thoughts?

'Ah, semantics. The refuge of the Trump apologist. lolPossibly, but not "fuming"... That representation is, shall we say, "exaggerated"? It is literally what he is quoted speaking about in the OP. Methinks you don't bother reading things and then you speak about them as if you "know" things instead of actually gathering some information and speaking with knowledge. Why on Earth would you even think that a "leftist" would even notice or care about the half mast flag on Inauguration Day? Now if it was upside down in distress, you might have a point. You all are far too quick to assign sinister motives to others. Projection, my dear?

I think that noticing that others are small minded enough to be happy that it "must bother Trump" could be noticing the small-mindedness of others... This one seems to be small if the "happiness" of folks at the half-mast flag is at all true (seems to be from posts here). Regardless, noting that others seem happy about something is not "fuming" that characterization is just grasping."Complaint" will do but in view of the circumstance the small mindedness of the complaint is striking.
