Trump got $413,000,000.00 from daddy

rump, who has long claimed to be a self-made billionaire, along with his siblings, allegedly helped hide millions in gifts from their parents using fake corporations to hide the money, according to a report in the New York Times.

The paper outlined a series of alleged schemes and “outright fraud” deployed by Trump and his family in order to transfer money and evade tens of millions in taxes.

Trump, as noted in the Times story, has repeatedly sold a vision of himself as building a $10 billion empire out of a $1 million loan from his father.

The report from the Times does not shed light on Trump's personal tax returns or current businesses. The president declined repeated requests from the Times to comment on their findings.

Trump's attorney, Charles Harder, vehemently denied the allegations in the Times, calling them "100 percent false and highly defamatory."

The Trump Organization has not responded to a request for comment from ABC News.

State tax authorities have already been investigating Trump’s charity, the Trump Foundation. The probe has expanded to include Michael Cohen, the president’s former personal attorney and fixer who was subpoenaed in August.

New York State Attorney General Barbara Underwood has an open investigation of the Trump Foundation that claims the president and his advisers conflated political and charitable work in violation of charities laws.

Even setting aside the ethical and legal implications of this conduct, it really underscores a key fact about Trump that right-wingers never really got: he was a singularly incompetent business man. When you look at how his net worth moved over time, it was already clear that the return he was getting on his money was far below what any moron with a passively managed index fund would have gotten in the same era. And once you consider that was despite getting these regular infusions of additional wealth from his father, over time (including a large inheritance), it becomes clear his investment return was just a small fraction of the average market return. You literally could have blindly thrown darts at a list of stocks every year and outperformed Trump's business empire by a very large margin. He was utterly inept. After his father died and he could not longer rely on these repeated infusions of unearned wealth, he tried to make up for it by relying more and more on outright scams, like Trump University, to try to avoid additional bankruptcies. When even those began to dry up, as he exhausted his pool of available suckers, he relied more on laundering money for the Russians and accepting sweetheart deals from Putin-connected oligarchs.

NY Times. Completely unreliable.

The NYT is probably the best journalistic outlet in existence. That's not to say they're perfect, but they have solid fact-checkers, a serious ombudsman function, and a willingness to print prominent retractions when they get something wrong. There's a reason they have far and away the most Pulitzer Prizes of any newspaper, and have their pick of top investigative reporters and editorial writers. They're the gold standard of journalism in this country, and arguably the world.

He's the kind of businessman whose daddy has to use a strawman to buy 13 million in chips to salvage his casino as it swirls towards the drain.

Donald Trump is almost certainly as dirty as his most vocal critics suppose him to be.

I suspect the revelations to come during the next couple of years will reveal just how filthy he is...

...and will have to listen to the absurd rationalizations and "explanations" of his delusional sycophants.

Could actually be fun, though.

Trump went bankrupt about 6 times. He bankrupted a casino, actually 3 of them. How stupid do you have to be to accomplish that feat? He cheated his contractors just for fun. Trump's egomania even shows up in his business life as well as his neanderthal politics. Trump is unreliable. He lies like no president ever.

The New York times is the most dependable paper in the country. They do careful research. Trump did what they say.

Why do you people say that about any source that disagrees with your worldview, yet would not call Faux News partisan, or unreliable? Do you have some source that proves them wrong, or is it just the usual useful idiot rambling? Did you read the report? How many times did Daddy Trump bail out Trump? How many times did the Saudi's? Was TrumpU a fraud? How many times has Trump been sued for not paying his bills? How many of his contractors, and creditors, has he put in bankruptcy due to his shady business dealings?

And that is who you defend.

Careful. He is a prodigious troll if you irritate him. Fairly smart guy, but has neither the time or inclination to do anything but throw-away posts or
troll you as I stated. He won't research anything. Just off the cuff poster. That's what that was about the NYT, simply adopting the republican
ad hom that has developed against that outlet by Trump etc.

Of course, and they certainly didn't make up the fact that state taxing authorities have them under investigation. That's knowable.
Prove that claim wrong. My understanding is they have hundreds of corporate tax returns now to run through covering decades
of the Trump shells accounting practices. You know they probably use the most aggressive possible and fight any allegations to the hilt
as opposed to safe practices and compliance to avoid the radar. Two different philosophies, but if you are nouveau riche and a social climber
you run an aggressive growth "portfolio" don't you. That means tax fraud and hidden mad stacks of cash, stiffing honest venders, faking expense reports....
