Trump loses one "sure" vote.

Your standard deduction will be doubled this year resulting in less you will pay. Is that a "tax giveaway"?
I have a business in NY. My SALT deductions are reduced. I don't take the standard deduction, and I KNOW you aren't using that nonsense to try and pretend that this tax giveaway did anything to help the middle class.

Nobody likes Romney. The lefties hate him because he is a Republican and righties hate him because he is a lefty. If Romney runs, he will get the votes from all the folks who stayed home or voted for a candidate other than the two that were relevant in 2016. There were not enough of these rhinos and commies in 2016, so there probably won't be enough to impact anything in 2020 if Romney runs third party. If Romney is able to claim the Repub nomination, we are screwed.

YOU PEOPLE are screwed by having the political philosophy you have. It is the political philosophy of savages.

Mitt Romney will be the Jeff Flake of this Senate, will there be others?

Who among the Republican Senators has the strength of courage to stand up to Rump?
Not Romney

The senator-elect appears willing to fall in line with Trump over his most divisive campaign promise, even though he believes the president is causing “dismay around the world” and tension in America, as he wrote for The Post in the piece published Tuesday morning.

Republicans are slamming him "he'll never get the nomination for POTUS"

funny how Romney wanted Trump's endorsement for Senator though!

Isn’t that ironic. Someone should ask Romney that question

Romney is the poster child for what is wrong with the Republican Party

I would rather lose than win with someone like Romney

I am so glad he lost to Obama. He would have been a nightmare from a policy standpoint

You love high taxes. You want greedy business owners like yourself taxed more.

Trump gave you what you say you want. Why so mad bro

You don't even know what political philosophy I have. Lefties can't conceive the difference between righties and rhinos.

You are full of shit, Evmetro. Completely full of shit.

One of the problems I have with descriptors...is that they mean different things to different people...rendering them useless.

People like you decide that anyone not confirming your personal agenda...is a RINO (an acronym you cannot even "spell" properly)...and yet you think you can describe what a "righty" is!

The entire of the American conservative philosophy should disgust anyone with a functioning brain...and a sense of decency. For American conservatism to be the home chosen by Christian evangelicals...is the most hypocritical scenario of all time.

So take your lectures on what the right is or isn't and shove them up your ignorant ass.

We agree on something! We are engaged in a political war right now, and there are only two sides. Righties and lefties. As you and I apparently agree on, the various political descriptors are useless. It does not take long to see which side a person is on with a little conversation though.

You and I are clearly on opposite sides of the war, and this is easy to see. What lefties have a hard time seeing though, is that there is a group of lefties who incorrectly use descriptors like "Republican" and "conservative". They are on your side of the war, and the folks on your side don't realize it. I am glad that lefties cannot recognize this group as their friends, as it would hurt my side for lefties to finally figure out that this group is their friend.

70% of Americans use the standard deduction and doubling it will help the middle class more than upper income who usually have enough deductions to itemize. Your SALT deductions had to be subsidized by those from other states who did not get those large deductions.

Nonsense. Nobody subsidizes NYers. I believe you're talking about the states that take in more than 100% of fed money, than they pay out.

All taxpayers get the SALT deduction.

And what did upper income earners get? Nothing?

Anatta is a pauper. His taxes were temporarily lowered. As they should be.

Agreed. That was my point. Lowering a person's taxes is not a "tax giveaway" because we are not "giving" it to anyone but simply letting Althea keep more of the money earned.

Well, it sounds as if you don't believe in taxation. If that's the case, then there's no point in discussing the tax giveaway.

All taxpayers get the SALT deduction if they have enough deductions to itemize--70% do not and cannot use it. Getting a big deduction for SALT means less federal income taxes paid which must be made up (borrowed) by those taxpayers from lower tax states that do not get as large a deduction.
