Trump Taps Financier and Art Collector With No Military Experience to Run the Navy

Biden's current Secretary of the Army Christine Warmuth has no military experience. There have been quite a few Secretaries of the Armed Services that have had no military experience. It is a civilian position.
So that makes it okay for Trump to do the same. Got it. Thanks for admitting Biden was right to appoint Secretaries without experience. LOL

Fealty to Trump is all the MAGAts and the Orang Messiah himself care about.
Which was the claim against Trump 8 years ago, he responded by going out of his way to go with Swamp Creatures....who betrayed the will of the people by destroying the Trump agenda by subterfuge. Trump is determined to not make that mistake again. However what he did not learn is that when he brought in people who had no experience with the Swamp, people like Tillerson, they were completely useless. That is likely to be the result of people like this Sec Navy.

She was a Swamp expert when appointed...a completely different situation.

I get how the system works. If you donate big money to a candidate, you get something in return.

But the Secretary of the US Navy? That should NOT be one of those positions given to a donor to thank them.

The US Navy is the largest naval force in the world. The person in charge of the US Navy & US Marine Corp should, at the very least, be experienced with the military. Phelan never served in any branch of the military.

On Monday I will be calling my congressman to voice my opposition. I would ask all of you to do the same.
He’s a SMU man. Was there during the Pony Express days. He’s a big donor as well.

Maybe SMU’s push to return to glory played a role in the selection?

This is an Admiral in the Biden administration.

Geebus... an "Admiral" in the Public Health Commissioned Corps... Apparently "Assistant Health Secretary" is an "Admiral" in some Uniformed Corps... Basically a Surgeon General, but slightly lower in rank and just called "Admiral" instead of General (same uniforms though)... The "Commissioned Corps" wear stylized uniforms that look a bit like Naval uniforms but the insignia are entirely different.

No it is not. Some seem to have a problem with the fact this person has no military experience. Neither does she or many before her. This is an administrative, civilian position. I tend to not agree with Trumps pick here however there is no requirement at all for prior military service.

Being in the navy is not a requirement for a high position. They are executives organizing far-flung bases and personnel. That is the skill set required. It is like Trump's defense department choice, Hegseth. His qualification is that he was in the army as a soldier and then a Fox commentator. This is equivalent to GM picking a guy off the assembly line to run an international organization. Well, he was at GM for 20 years.

Great choice. He doesn't think he wants to be a girl.

I don't like allot of the things done and supported by FDR, but in his selection of Frank Knox, the opposition leader of the GOP, to be his Secretary of the Navy, FDR was proven wise in his selection by the end of WWII:

Knox proved to be just the man the American Navy needed, to get and keep things moving in the victory direction.

I think Trump's pick here will prove much the same.
