Trumps Personality, a response to thing1

have to make this thread because thing1 threadbans me from an honest discussion which is really weaksauce. I never troll when people ask honest and sincere questions. What is wrong with you thing1?

Here is the thing thing1, the reason you are a bit flummoxed is because you have been living in an alternate reality. You may say I am using hyperbole here, but I mean that in a very literal way. Your view of reality and America in general was mis-aligned, so your baseline is off.

First, the reason why so many people like trump is because he is a winner. That's what a lot of it boils down to. People keep saying he can't do x y and z and he proves them wrong time and time again. He isn't a serious candidate. He can't get the nom. He can't win the general.

Lets look at what trump was up against. He was up against 16 other repubicans, many who had huge establishment backing and large coffers. Jeb had 100 million, and he drained every penny of it. Trump made jeb look like a bitch. He steamrolled the GOP establishment. Then he had to face an insurgent movement from his own party with Romney... the literal former GOP nominee trashing him and starting the nevertrump movement. He outlasted that. Then people called his convention a disaster, they called his comments about mccain not being a war hero a disaster, they called his treatment of the khans a disaster, they called him eating a taco bowl a disaster. They called his comments about megyn kelly and rosie o donnel a disaster. Trump kept winning.

Then as we know, it was impossible for him to win the general. Hillary spent a billion dollars to take him down. She MASSIVELY outspent him, something people forget to mention (I don't have the numbers on hand).. and instead he flips states that haven't been red in almost 3 decades. (No one gives a shit about commie-fornia).

The other reason he appeals to people is he is changing the dialogue of america. He is smashing p.c. culture. We have had so much SJW bullshit for the last couple of years, it's very refreshing to take all that stuff down a notch... if you have the literal president of the united states grabbing pusssy, telling it like it is, you cannot say "America is not like this", or "America doesn't stand for that. And that's what a lot of your confusion boils down to.

I have noticed that you have seemed like you are actually take the time for some legitimate introspection these days. You really have a desire for understanding, a wonder of what went wrong and what you missed. I commend you for that.

Here is the thing, when 60 million voters vote for somebody, when nearly 50% of the electorate votes for someone like trump, you can't pretend he is some massively outside the mainstream figure. You cannot marginalize him in that way. He represents the wishes of half the electorate. What you thought of as a baseline for normalcy was mis-aligned, and that's what is ultimately throwing you for a loop.

It's ok to call elizabeth warren pocahauntus. It is perfectly fine to like to grab some pussy when you are a star (as all the women want you to). This is normal. This is our actual, true reality, and you are living in it. Adjust accordingly and like focusing a lens, everything will become sharper to you.

In conclusion, I think a lot of liberals are prisoners of their own rhetoric. If you go back and look from 2008, people were calling mccain the next hitler. Then they called romney the next hitler. Then they did the same thing to trump. The only difference is trump won, so now liberals are stuck. While I don't think trump is going to be this awesome president, I do think your fears are almost entirely unfounded, baseless, and boy cried wolf syndrome. How many times do you get to call a GOP candidate hitler before no one listens to you anymore?

Trump has swagger, he is a populist, he keeps winning, and he grabs pussy. America finds that very appealing.
Thank you Sheldon, I think it's hilarious you telling someone they live in an alternate reality. I couldn't stop laughing to read the rest of the post.

Voting for him doesn't = liking him. Particularly in this election, on both sides.

And that isn't splitting hairs.

fair point. Though I would say a sizable chunk were very inspired by him. The rest just decided they wanted the pussy grabber over the first women president

Why did you vote for him lol?

The delusion lies in denying Trump's obvious leadership abilities. He single handedly started a movement while having the whole establishment deck stacked against him. Few have the political balls to even attempt such a thing and Trump pulled it off in an upset, which was arguably historic.

Obama on the other hand, had instant adulation from the media. If for no other reason he was the first serious black contender for president. To this day, much of the establishment media won't go after the first black president. But Obama's oratory skills can be pretty formidable, so he checks that box for leadership qualities.

Other than that, I'm not sure why people expected much out of his presidency.
You guys are such suckers, how many times has his children, and campaign come out and said he didn't believe anything he told you. He said back in '98 that if he ran for office it would be as a Republican because you guys were all so dumb and would believe anything you were told by Fox News.

I disagree w/ most of the OP, btw. It deserves a longer response, but I don't have time at the moment.

It will sound like typical lefty arrogance, but I don't care. I'm the one living in reality. You can call it alternate, but it is not mis-aligned. As I have said from the beginning, there are those who very clearly & easily can see through Trump's obvious con act - and those who inexplicably cannot. To call their reality "aligned," or to even call it reality, is the stretch.

I can't relate to anyone who doesn't see a Trump Presidency as a real low point for America. I don't want to relate to them. They simply don't get it - they're the ones who have to learn. Not me.

"Voting for him doesn't = liking him." #82

Novak corrected a voter / panelist on air about that.
The panelist said we pick our candidate based upon political ideology and campaign promises.

Novak said no. That we vote for the candidate we like the best.

I have no dog in that fight.

I can attest to my method.

I choose the candidate to vote for based upon their track record, and their political agenda for the office they seek.

But it's not the like that earns my vote.

It's the policy that earns my like, & my vote, unless I'm defensive voting; which sadly I do all too often. My first presidential election vote was 1972. I genuinely don't remember who I voted for. I voted against Richard M. ("I am not a crook") Nixon.

You've been online all day but now you don't have the time? You're a fucking liar

Lay off the caffeine. I'm online, but working most of the time. I have time to make quick comments, but I'm working too much to give the OP the kind of response it deserves.

I was actually giving it a compliment of sorts - because it was a thoughtful post, and deserves more than I can give it right now.

Hope that explanation is okay for you.

Oh look who found the time!

He spent 18 months with the pathological liar. Read the article. He could hardly get a real interview with Trump because of Trump's short attention span and inability to focus.

You realize a lot of brilliant people have ADHD, right?

The idea that Trump is somehow psychologically paralyzed by an inability to focus doesn't square with the fact he executed a winning presidential campaign and made billions in real estate. That is, it doesn't square with reality.

Methinks Schwartz has an axe to grind.

Think Domer, the author wants to get his name out there.

Jesus, Guille. Open your eyes. He made a ton of money on the book and turned down a second one. You have an outsider that has spent more time with Trimp than probably anyone. He refers to Trump as a sociopath and one who lies as easily as speaks. No attention span.

Those observations were validated throughout the campaign and continue to be.

Why would he have an ax to grind? He made a ton of money on the book. His observations ABSOLUTELY square with reality.

Trump can't only not focus, his tweets demonstrate the maturity of a third grader. Listen to him speak and watch him tweet. He has the verbal and writing skills of an 8th grader. Combine those traits with a complete ignorance of policy issues and pathological lying and you've got a real gem. But he's your gem. Lube up. You're in for a painful experience.

I'll file that with the rest of your predictions lol.

He made a ton of money on the book and can make even more by sensationalizing it.

I made one prediction, cunthole. That was that Trump would lose. I was half right.

Poor willfully ignorant twit. Schwartz's observations are completely in sync with what a person with even minimal perception recognizes about Trump. Obviously, with your head up your ass, you fall short of that low standard.
