(Sigh) I have this feeling things will be dragged out. Then, the 2022 Election is held. And the House changes hands. ... and the Commission is disbanded. :(

All that violence and no cops were hurt but he got 5 years. I wonder what the planners and those who caused police injuries are going to get? LOL

Robert Palmer, 54, of Tampa, was charged with repeatedly assaulting police officers on the Capitol's Lower West Terrace. Prosecutors said he threw a wooden plank the police, then picked up a fire extinguisher and sprayed its contents at a line of officers, throwing the canister at them after it was empty.

A few minutes later, prosecutors said, he picked up the fire extinguisher and threw it at them a second time and assaulted another group of officers with a metal pole, throwing it like a spear. He stopped the attack when an officer shot him in the abdomen with a rubber bullet.

The officers were able to shield themselves, and none of them were hurt, according to court documents.

"Those officers were so brave standing there, just taking all the stuff that people were giving them, all the taunts, all the jeers and everything," Palmer told the judge before he was sentenced.

"I am so ashamed I was part of that. Very, very ashamed," he said.

Agreed absolutely. Otherwise everyone will see that you can instigate this sort of thing and get away with it, and there will be nothing to stop it happening again as long as you can find enough idiots. That will be Trump's gift to the nation.

The problem is that no ex-president has ever been jailed or even brought to trial as far as I know. America will risk looking like a banana republic. Most people will want to avoid that, and hope for the best.

There is very little to charge anyone with that would carry a meaningful sentence. It will also be hard to find the evidence of trump's crimes, but he is running out the clock with the help of other co conspirators in Congress.

Ironically, the 'defund' crowd is safely seated in their districts. And that has been thoroughly debunked anyway by the majority of the party.

I'd worry more about the voter denial laws being passed, coupled with the racist gerrymandering.
