No, it does not. Lots of states have kicked it up and that does not happen. Fact is when lower level people have more money it goes into the economy and increases demand which is what creates jobs.

New York City just increased the minimum wage to $15 an hour, and companies are laying people off now, and cutting people's hours.
Yes, when money is distributed more evenly throughout the population, the economy thrives. But there are better ways to achieve that than the minimum wage.
