Vast majority of Americans support photo ID requirement to vote, new poll says 84% of Americans favor requiring a photo ID to vote, Gallup Poll finds

How Voter ID Laws Discriminate

A comprehensive study finds evidence that strict voting laws suppress the ballot along racial lines.

Researchers Zoltan Hajnal, Nazita Lajevardi, and Lindsay Nielson at the University of California San Diego analyzed certified votes across all states after the implementation of voter laws in multiple elections, and it found just that kind of racially discriminatory impact.

Specifically, they found “that strict photo identification laws have a differentially negative impact on the turnout of Hispanics, Blacks, and mixed-race Americans in primaries and general elections.”

The rogue Supreme Court does not want free and fair elections.

Need ID to vote ........Oh the horror
None of those are rights mentioned in the US Constitution. Are you suggesting citizens have to show an ID every time they exercise a right in the Constitution?

Many items on your list don't require showing an ID.
You can apply for Medicaid and Social Security online and don't have to show anyone an ID.
I don't have to show an ID to get a fishing license, I can do that online as well.
I don't need a picture ID to go fishing.
I don't need to show an ID to get on a plane. I need to show ID to get through TSA but getting on the plane only requires a ticket.
I don't have to show an ID to pick up a prescription. They ask my name and address or phone number.

American citizens have the right to vote.

Non-citizens, illegals, do not.
Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin's administration canceled the voter registrations because the voters were non-U.S. citizens.
The non-citizens signed a statement verifying that they are non-citizens.

A left wing judge has returned these non-citizens to the voter registration list.

Do you understand now?
One small problem with your argument. Almost all of the cancelled voter registrations in VA were for US citizens

In issuing her ruling Friday, Giles bristled at the suggestion she was restoring the voting rights of noncitizens. She said the state lacked proof that the purged voters were noncitizens but went ahead and canceled their registrations anyway in violation of federal law.

“I'm not dealing with beliefs,” she told a lawyer for Virginia when he again referred to those stricken from the rolls as noncitizens. “I'm dealing with evidence.”

The Justice Departmen t and private groups, including the League of Women Voters, said many of the 1,600 voters whose registrations were canceled were in fact citizens whose registrations were canceled because of bureaucratic errors or simple mistakes like a mischecked box on a form

You have to show an ID to buy a gun. And owning a gun is a CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT.

They were people that self identified as non-citizens when they got driver licenses. So either they were non-citizens or lying or just dumbasses. If they were lying they may have been lying to get out of jury duty would be my guess.
At any rate they were all offered the chance to prove they were citizens.

Stanbridge also asked Snow if he had concerns about non-citizens voting in this election.

"No, because there is not evidence that non-citizens vote and you know anybody voting does so knowing that they have an eligibility requirement," Snow said. "They've reaffirmed their citizenship and we should take their word for it."

A lot of this comes down to if you declare yourself a citizen or non-citizen at the DMV.

ABC13 spoke with a number of registrars in the area. They say the executive order really didn't change a lot for them because this has been the practice for decades.

Stanbridge took this question to Snow and asked him what his thoughts are on that and I asked if there really was anything done differently.

"Absolutely — first and foremost, the executive order required daily transmission of DMV data to the Department of Elections and then on to the registrars as opposed to monthly," Snow said. "When the data is transmitted monthly, there's more opportunity for errors to be corrected."

I question why any state would give an illegal a driver's license.
The tractor trailer you just passed could well be driven by a non English speaking illegal who can't read road signs.
Something to think about during your travels...

I'm not sure why you have a problem with simply voting? The issue isn't bringing a valid ID. The issue is that there are still thousands of people in the nation with no birth certificate because they were born at home. They are elderly, and even attempting to jump through the necessary hoops to obtain an ID is a burden. If a state has a strict voter ID law, then the burden is on the govt to hand deliver necessary documents to those who cannot obtain them easily.
I'm not sure why you have a problem with asking for an ID...There are other ways to get one if your BC has been "lost" or you "never had one"...;)
I have no problem with the government helping IDs happen... because Everyone should have one...
How do you open a bank account without one? How do you go the hospital without one? How do you fly? Some schools these days even require an ID to enter...There's quite a long list of things where it's much easier if you have a photo ID...sometimes, even necessary...

Wait until they or a family member is involved in an accident with someone who is driving illegally...they'll sing a different tune...
(When there's no license, there's no insurance...And quite possibly, no English...)
