finally I agree with blackas
give him 6months, then 3 months off for good behavior.
They'd have been better served letting him do a couple dozen lectures as community service about why that's a bad thing to do.
Also, don't shot the horses.
Don't shoot the horses? What are you talking about?finally I agree with blackas

Anyway, I think that such lectures from a man who has done what he did would be met with sardonic laughter. It would have been from me when I was a HS student.
Almost all the youth that I have heard speak on this were making jokes about him and his actions. I think they too would have a hard time keeping the snot from striking their hands as they tried to hold in the outright and direct laughter it would provoke to have him telling them to treat animals well. But you're not normal.
A lecture from Vick, who is still admired by a great many youth, would indeed be beneficial.

This wouldn't be the first time we agreed brother, and hopefully it won't be the last.
Obviously we don't talk to the same set of youth. If the youths you talk to can only listen to perfect people, they aren't hearing much.
The set of youth I talk to would benefit from listening to Vick. In fact, much of the south could benefit because that's where dog fighting is popular.
Yes. And amazingly we can speak on more than one subject at a time. It's always sad when people try to use this tactic as if people are unable to speak on anything except whatever issue they think we should be talking about. It's plain rubbish.Bush sent over 3000 American heros to die in Iraq based on trumped up lies and misinformation and we are talking about Vick?
Whenever did I say that he must be perfect? This is a strawman. He must be somewhat credible to make any difference. To have one of the worst violators of humane treatment laws speak on how important it is to treat animals well is simply something to laugh about. Maybe after he serves his time, shows some actual repentance, pays his dues. But now? Hayul no!Obviously we don't talk to the same set of youth. People are speaking on that other subject. What do you think happens to come into almost any thread including one on animal cruelty laws and whether Vick should be their poster child?Except we noone is speaking on the other subject. Its all about if Britney is pregnant or how much of a fine Vick will have to pay. I see barely anything about what Bush duped the more conservative voters into beliving and into supporting.

Ah, you are addressing that we are talking about Vick on here, to make a point about the media that isn't here talking about what we are talking about?Sure on here, where individuals get to post whatever they want, I am really talking about the fact that its barely being discussed on the media. And that our elected officials are doing nuthing about it!

Obviously you've never heard of programs like "Scared Straight" where convicts talk to youth about the dangers and pitfalls of crime. The convicts talk to youth, while they're still locked up.
Again, I don't interact with youth you seem to be talking to. The youth I talk to, particularly youth who have come up in environments that Vick grew up in, could definately benefit from listening to him. What he has to say would make a far greater impact than listening to a cop, the Pope, Bush, or you for that matter.
They are serving their time, but they don't speak to the benefit to society of not doing the crime. Scared Straight programs use "Prison is bad and you don't want to be here." now "Boy you should treat animals good... like I did!"Obviously you've never heard of programs like "Scared Straight" where convicts talk to youth about the dangers and pitfalls of crime.
