Watching the LA Fire Press Conference officials. Six of seven are women.

Also, can someone tell me why elected LA officials thought is was a good idea to raise to salary of the General Manager of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power $300,000 to $750,000 this past year. In fact the city council thought everyone should be paid anywhere from $450,000 to $750,000 for all their hard work. The entire group are losers that have no business having those jobs and certainly do not deserve to be paid more than the President (Libtards, I'm not talking about Trump, he never has and never will take a dime from the taxpayers, unlike any other Presidents) It's criminal. I would think, even drones would be upset about that.

We never lost the freedom of speech.

ROFL

The STASI (formerly FBI) crushing free speech on social media (they iz PRIVATE) should have caused the entire organization to be dismantled - instead you defend the destruction of the 1st and try to gaslight.

Free speech has returned to Twitter, thanks to Musk.

They tried it under Arnold. The aircraft all started failing. It was a disaster. Right as the Anaheim Hills were burning close to my house.
There using sea planes as we speak. I understand the corrosive nature of salt water well, it's very much part of the industry I am part of. That said, the problems you are describing are far from instant, it takes repetition over a substantial amount of time for fire hoses, water storage, etc. Where small nozzles or constricted passages are concerned, sure, avoid it's use. But simply because of the severity of the situation I definitely think when the ponds are empty, you've got to use what you've have.

And yet I don't see you complaining when you signed the agreement with Damocles.

That sums up the left wing mentality nicely. 'I know thousands of houses are burning and people are dying, but you can't expect us to reduce the longevity of our equipment, can you'? Sounds like something the morons in power would say. I wonder how the residents of LA will like that explanation. I have a guess.

Or the firefighting equipment won't last the week.

Won't it, paw paw? People are dying.

Aircraft like the Canadair CL-415 or the older CL-215 are specifically designed for scooping operations. While they are typically used with freshwater sources, they can scoop seawater if necessary. These aircraft have specialized hulls for water scooping and can refill in less than 10 seconds while skimming over water.

While firefighting scoop aircraft can indeed use seawater, it's not always the preferred choice due to maintenance and efficiency issues. However, in scenarios where freshwater isn't readily available or accessible, seawater becomes a viable option.

Like I said, or maybe I wasn't this clear. A real leader would say, 'Don't worry about any equipment that will be damaged in a weeks time, we are without fresh water and people's homes are burning. I will be sure to get new hoses, fire engines, whatever the hell we need from the many departments all over the Country more than willing to help. We will worry about the cost later, right now use anything wet you can find to put these damn fires out". Just my opinion.

And when the fires are still burning in a week?

No, it aids firefighters in areas that don't have plentiful water nearby. In reality it is much slower to resupply than a water plane/helicopter, you have to go back to an airport/landing strip, refill, take off, fly back, etc.. When you're next to the damn ocean, use the damn ocean.
Wow. You're an armchair expert on everything, SlaveforSatan. Do you know how to fly too?

In a message to NPR, the Forest Service says that in a change for 2025, it phased out the Phos-Chek LC95 formulation nationwide in favor of another Phos-Chek product, MVP-Fx, after an earlier switch to MVP-Fx in California. The agency cites data showing that MVP-Fx is less toxic to aquatic life than LC95.

Air tankers and chemical fire retardants have been used since the 1950s, allowing firefighters to reach difficult spots. The U.S. Forest Service says retardants are used to "slow the rate of spread by cooling and coating fuels, depleting the fire of oxygen, and slowing the rate of fuel combustion as the retardant's inorganic salts change how fuels burn."...

...Is it safe?
Due to environmental concerns, the Forest Service has a mandatory ban on aerial retardant drops in sensitive areas such as waterways and endangered species habitats (map). That ban is in effect "except when human life or public safety are threatened." Using retardants in restricted areas must be reported for possible remediation.

Phos-Chek doesn't include any substances flagged by California's Proposition 65 list of materials that are known to cause cancer and other harms, according to its maker.
