Well I won't argue with that, because I don't know the facts of the case, but surely it has something to do with the golden "trickle down" effect your master sends your way.
It also has something to do with the ability to negotiate larger personal raises based on performance rather than one set raise negotiated by a fat jerk who doesn't really care what you make only that everybody there gets the same raise even if they are lazy bastages.

correct. I was once a union steward in an open shop situation.
Closed shops were more prevalent in the larger NE big cities.
I think I negotiate a larger raise based on my performance. Whether others do is their problem.
I know that my raise has been higher than the union's raise every single year by significant percentages. I know that other lazy bastages got smaller raises than the union got and they, for the larger part, were the ones voting for the union.
Socializing raises doesn't increase incentive.

No, that is not what I said.
Just as insurance companies socialize risk, so too do unions socialize such things as raises.
It doesn't mean that they are "socialism", just that they share the benefit between everybody rather than incentivizing by giving larger raises based on performance and ability.
And emo-boys are like four year olds screaming how unfair the world is.

Again. I haven't said that everybody has the same experience as me. I have said that I personally negotiate raises based on performance expectations and the fact that I consistently exceed them by a large margin. Because I have the ability to do more for the company than two lazy bastages they like paying to keep me there and getting rid of the lazy guys who cost more in the long run.

Compassion would be to work towards opening the borders without the necessity of breaking the law and creating a massive underclass dependent on the government for lifestyle subsidies.
As they cross the borders the coyotes have taken to imprisoning them in homes and holding them hostage until the price for crossing has been tripled or quadrupled in some cases. All the while the women are treated as slaves, often as young as 13.
We should incentivize more of that. Because that is what you see as "compassion". Rather than stopping illegal entry and opening the border we can all pretend like an emo-boy that nobody gets hurt in the illegal trade in human labor. We can have labor unions who used to protect the wage levels now working to protect the illegal flesh trade. WOW what an Improvement!
