We Have So Much To Be Thankful To China For

Hello cawacko,

So no one would ever think to ask if what an organization is doing is worthwhile or achieving its goal?

I didn't say that. But the two approaches are not exclusive of one another. The effectiveness of all organizations should constantly be assessed, but government corruption will not be corrected by ignoring the results of big money influence.

One thing we know is that back when public schools were performing better, we had far less big money corruption in government.

Hello Bill,

The fact that they have the right to be disruptive & the rest of the country is forced to accommodate them is the problem IMHO..

Most other countries are not so generous.. You start early fuckin up-not conforming & following rules & direction you're getting culled & set on another path away from the others..

THANK YOU.

I know every time I acted up in school I got sent to the principals office. And that was something I did not want to happen. So I got with the program and stopped disrupting classes. Do they not do such things any more?

How much of that is unique to education, gubment or just common to man?? Pretty rare for anyone to voluntarily put themselves out of a job aint it??

The educational system needs to be removed from politics as much as possible~they have their agendas-keep them out of the school..

Reduce, reduce, reduce, mantra.. Reduce their power, their money~ & demand better results & outcomes........ Not like we haven't herd this a few zillion times... Sometimes that is a valid call~sometimes it aint...

What I have seen over the many years is some folks/politicians bitching about how something is all so bad, well WTF, you did everything in your power to destroy it, to under fund it etc then bitch cause it aint functioning up to your expectations......:palm:

IMHO these are some of the reasons why our system sucks, not just cause we aren't following visionaries w/ great ideas...... & what a fuckin mountain to climb of entrenched interests. OyE fCKIN VaY!!!!

I've probably posted this before but I thought this was a great book. Remember when Zuckerburg gave $100m to Newark schools? This book is all about that. It gets into the weeds about how our education system works. And the long and short is the children are often pawns. The title of the book is called "The Prize" and its referencing those in power who get to distribute the money across the education system and thus the fight to win that power. It shows the battle over Zuckerburg's money and ultimately how little it actually accomplished.

I preface my statement with more money is better than less money but this book shows exactly why even when we spend more money the results don't change. More money isn't going to change a rotten system.

First there needs to be goals, plural.......

Start from the top, what is the National goal of our country today?? If the folks @ the top don't set one-because they don't have one it makes it's kinda hard for the rest down the bureaucracy to work around........

It is rather a chaotic fuckin mess of conflicting self-interest & corruption..

Any wonder why we are in a mess w/ no goals, plans or direction?

even identifying problems has been a political minefield. if performance results have any sort of perceivable racial correlation, the results are considered racist. hence we get a ceiling effect with all tests. its a low ceiling.

Yep, hard to agree on a solution if you can't even agree on what the problem/s are..

Yes, I recall you or someone posted it before....

You mean it works the same everywhere?? If so, then why do we have 50,000 school districts, w/ 50,000 superintendents being paid six figures to duplicate the same shit??? asking for a friend...:sneak:

That was his bad choice to play god w/ the money his monopoly has been able to make off the rest of us~but that is another story..

You throw real money @ a bureaucracy of any kind & it will somehow be different?? You kidding me here??

& this goes to my point of the entire system-bureaucracy & the massive duplication & competition built into the system here, if we dare to call this clusterfuck a system..

Now, @ some point will you consider looking @ existing systems that have proven results or am I hoping/waiting in vain here??

I'm always open to looking at how other countries or areas work. Not that we're required to follow anyone else but we'd be remiss not to study it. It's all about best practices really.

I don't think Zuckerburg was trying to play God. He was trying to help and the proverbial no good deed goes unpunished not a lot came from it. Hence the position that more money isn't always the answer.

It sounds like we're in agreement about the need of the system to change. There's also the proverbial many ways to skin a cat so change can look different ways to different people.

Well for years we have not necessarily agreed exactly on how, we most certainly agreed that change is sorely needed..

Well I am just more cynical than you I guess, I have a hard time assuming zillionares altruistic motives...

Zuck & others fight tooth & nail to avoid paying into the coffers of our gubment & promise they will give most of it away.....

They, not the gubment get to decide what happens w/ that money~a luxury we don't have-They take our money & they decide what is the best interest...

What I have seen over the many years is some folks/politicians bitching about how something is all so bad, well WTF, you did everything in your power to destroy it, to under fund it etc then bitch cause it aint functioning up to your expectations......:palm:

Yes, that is frustrating. Take a good idea and destroy it. Democrats come up with a truly great idea to do something really positive for society, Republicans can clearly see that it will work, so naturally they want to kill it. Can't let the Dems have any successes. If they can't vote it down, they try to underfund it. And if it still begins to have some success, they launch the propaganda attacks, stir up anger and hatred, use it to build opposition power. All these efforts are negative for our society and our country. And ever so false, it's amazing their followers bite on the BS and can't see the reality, refuse to see the reality.

Take the stimulus in 2008. That needed to be much larger. At least twice the size it was. The problem was: that would have caused the economy to bounce right back quicker. Having the economy bounce right back is exactly what Republicans want now, but the last thing they wanted with a Democratic President. So they fought it under the guise of being 'fiscally responsible.' But then as soon as The Donald gets elected, all those Republican deficit hawks flew the coop. Not a peep out of them as taxes for the rich were cut far too low to support the budget. The deficit ballooned. Did they care? NOT A PEEP!

I see. So you found the conclusion you were looking for, namely that public education can't work. That, somehow, an education system which has all the same expenses as public education, but also has to generate a profit on top of that, somehow will get better results at less cost. Well, I hope they are not teaching math in these for-profit schools, because the students will quickly learn that when you add more things, the sum is greater.

Are you willing to pay extra taxes to support a more expensive education system?

Do you think that is how China has beaten us in education?

You think they use a for-profit system which allows private investors to profit from their education system?

China is beating us in education because they are taught respect and their universities don't teach useless courses like Liberal Arts, or Transgender Studies, or ....

Chinese universities do have Liberal Arts majors, and even poetry majors. On top of that, many come to the USA to study at our great universities.

Somehow I doubt Nazi Bitch even knows what Liberal Arts is. She has lived her life in the servile arts.

Just more trolling, nothing to support it blah blah blah....... :dunno:

We should be thankful that China has settled our question of whether a for-profit education system is better than a public one or not. The answer is clearly that a well-run public education system can be extremely efficient - enough to out-educate the USA. Maybe that's part of why their economy is growing faster than ours.

IMHO education is part of the reason, certainly are many factors including American, Japanese etc etc etc corporations pulling up roots @ home & moving to china..

The CCP has been sending students here & they pay top dollar @ some of the best Universities in the world~learn & go home to China to replicate what they learned.. I think trump is trying to do something about it, but it is likely to late & they'll just go to European schools..

Yeah, that's sad. Hopefully we get better leadership that understands the nuances of higher diplomacy next year. We have certainly learned that hateful extremism is not good for America.

This education problem won't be solved-that horse has already left......

Even if trump bands all students coming from China-universities will bitch about losing their cash cows & if our allies don't follow suit~they have great universities there.. :dunno:
