they do support open borders -they oppose all attempts at border control. They won't support a wall and they won't even support forcing the migrants to come thru port of entry.

Trust me on this, I can't speak for all Democrats. However, I've never heard any Democrat say America does not need borders. And, even if we didn't, which we clearly do, Mexico, and Canada surely would have a problem with it, so a border shall always be there, and we are all good here and makes your point totally mute about Democrats not wanting borders for our nation. Borders are not a Republican idea. And who gave you that idea in the first place?
Now lots of money has been poured into creating Portals that handle the traffic in-between our countries. This was not from Republican ideas. These come from Non-Partisan ideas that provided the money for those expensive portals at every border town and highway in-between. No one can cross through any of the Portals without getting permission to go through by the United States.
Now having said that, several million people pass through those portals every day legally. That's right, millions of Mexican citizens go to school here in the US, or they work in the US, or they seek medical care here in the US, or they visit relatives here in the US, and return home that very same evening, or before their Visa expires.
I think what you have a problem with is the fact that someone with a VISA that came cross legally, was supposed to return back across, and just didn't do it, and when their VISA naturally expires, they become an illegal Alien at that point. Republicans do not wish this, and neither do the Democrats. Republicans want them returned to their country, and the Democrats want them returned to their country.
And the only real difference between Republicans and the Democrats on any of these matters, is the way we treat these people before we return them to their home country!
So let's not get into all the shit-slinging contests, misappropriated and inaccurate accusations made towards those of opposite political parties, or insult anyone about this.
Donald Trump nor the Republicans invented our borders, nor our portals, ICE, Border patrol, Homeland Security, Deportations, Holding facilities, or any of our current immigration laws.
All of these things came about from Democrats and Republicans who worked together to provide them for America.
But it is Donald Trump that is misleading you followers into thinking he is the only one that created these things and he is the only one who is enforcing immigration policy.

The Truth is President Obama was the real Deporter-in-chief. As he deported many more illegal aliens than any other president so far, and in his first two years in office, deported many more illegal aliens than did Donald Trump in his first two years.
