What is woke about the lil mermaid?

In my effort to understand UltraMAGA, I am interested in why are your type
Consider the movie “woke”. I did see the old one, and have no understanding why the ethnicity of the person who plays the mermaid matters at all?

I did not mention the ethnicity of the mermaid at all when I explained to you what changes were not appreciated...

Someone here called the new Disney remake of the little mermaid woke.

I asked what’s woke about it and did not get an answer so I am asking again

What is woke about Disney’s remake of the little mermaid?

All mermaids are Caucasian, didn't your father tell you that?

Whites appropriated it. Appropriating things from others is something whites are skilled at, as in appropriating an entire continent.

Well, Marty, if you feel that Native American lands were appropriated wrongly, I’m sure that you would be more than willing to return your home and property to them.

Will Tuesday be too soon?

This was missed and the assumption of “it’s the race of the actress” was made. I haven’t seen the movie and will not. I have seen the promos in the theaters and nothing there looked terrible…except it wasn’t animated. I am assuming from what you have said so far that some song lyrics are changed and that is what you took exception to, but like I said I haven’t seen the movie.

Give me my land back!!

Short answer from the MAGAt mob (because that's all they can understand): "She's black".

Speaking of land I see Oklahoma ladies made theirs proud!!What a game!

I spent a lot of time in OKC at the FAA Aeronautical Center.

In the middle of summer, with the temperature near 100 degrees, I would see the ladies practicing softball.

My daughter played softball in high school but these Oklahoma ladies are extremely talented.

It's fascinating that switching to a black actor to play the part of a fictional character equals "messing it up" to you. Racist much? Why yes, you are. Bet you blew a gasket when the Pocahontas in the remake was much darker than the nearly-white original. :rofl2:

Other than the forlorn wails of MAGAs, it wouldn't even have occurred to me that casting a black actress as a mermaid would be even remotely controversial.
