I'm not, I used it as a poor example, however it is the same point. They put words that didn't exist into what bravo said.

While I do not agree with you, I know as many successful people who have not been to college as those who have been, but I certainly don't think you are a racist.

What exactly is a "make work" job anyway? I looked up the hiring requirement and this is what it says: "All TSA jobs require U.S. citizenship and successful completion of a full background investigation. In addition, persons interested in security officer positions must pass a medical examination, be able to read, speak, and write English, and pass a physical ability test, a drug and alcohol screening, and an aptitude test." On another site I read that the applicant also needs a high school diploma or GED. This is just for screeners.

It was his comment taken as a whole that's offensive, no matter who he's talking about. That the TSA cooked up this job for a bunch of slackers who might otherwise be on welfare. I'll bet he wasn't so snarky back in 2001 when the TSA was created by bush.

Of course, I disagree with both Topper and bravo on this. I don't think education level is the measure of a human.

A person is assigned "make-work" to keep them occupied or to otherwise make a "show" rather than something effective or productive.

In this case what they are saying is that TSA is to make you feel better, not to actually make you safer as what they are doing is ineffective.

I disagree with this assessment, I think they genuinely attempt to make people safer using stupid laws that will not allow even a simple profiling of activity. I believe that there are better ways to do this as evinced by the way Israel handles it, they are extremely successful without grabbing random peoples junk or putting on lesbo porn shows for the random voyeur.

I think most of the people sleeping in chairs were on breaks, not the guy next to the machine just most of the people in chairs. Likely waiting for a fellow employee to get off their shift and give them a ride or some other such.

Anyway, I think like any other group of people there are good and poor employees among the TSA. That it is likely that if you sleep on the job you will lose your job. Personally I would bring a book to one of those graveyard bore shifts... but that's just me. I just don't assume that somebody is "racist" if they say something like bravo did. While I think they are judgmental, and may be too hard on a group of people doing an uncomfortable job for a largely unhappy and unthankful group of people, I don't necessary assume "racism" at every turn.

it goes beyond the garden variety insults and vulgarity which are really nothing but "i disagree you", eg, you're stupid, you can't read, etc....is usually nothing more than i disagree with your take, view etc....

evil, however, goes to someone's morality and has specific context. how can you really tell if someone is evil from talking about politics on an anonymous message board? if they were posting they wanted to kill you and your family....well...then you would have something.

never said it was, but i find it hilarious how someone asks a question and you attribute as if i said it or thought it....he was questioning YOUR post.....do you honestly think name calling is evil?

i wanted to know what people think evil is. because terrorist used to actually mean something, now....pretty anyone we don't like who does something we don't like, we call them a terrorist. is evil going to become just a word for "i don't like you"?

Well that was my point. Is it worse to call someone a generic term like "evil", that people can define the way they want, or is it worse to use a specific insult, like about someone's brains, body, family, job etc.

I've said facetiously that righties blame the state of the country on "e-e-evil liberals", which would make me evil. But in reality, I'm no more evil than you.
