What Song Are You Listening To, Right Now?

You know what I hear in there, right?

No?

That's a Prince song. Fuckin' A right it is.

They didn't come up with that stuff on their own, Prince produced that. He was smart and a musical genius.

Really he had it all, okay maybe not height, but who gives a fuck? He was cool AF. He was American, at least. The way things are going, there will never be another like him.

Prince knew how to work the system. I bet Taylor Swift hasn't and never will come close to him yet. At one point in America, half of all songs on the radio were Prince songs, whether he he had his name

directly on them or not! Okay maybe not literally half, but seriously in between 1/4 and 1/2.

Okay, show me the top 100 from say..1986, and I'll show which ones are Prince songs. :whoa:

He dominated back in the day.

I see Prince as Q Jr. with a lot more style and talent and ambition. He was serious, boi!

He wrote a lot of things like this.

I had this theory he was Jimi Hendrix's lovechild from a little hot mama.

Prince had music mastered. Some of his songs people might think are cheese, but he could do anything.

He could funktify up Mozart in a concert and it would be just another day.

Woo!

That was a tight band!

One just does not see talent like that these days.

And they're doing 2 cover songs.

Wild Cherry and Kool & The Gang.

Prince knew how to slap a bass, too!

These mist covered mountains
Are a home now for me
But my home is the lowlands
And always will be
Someday you'll return to
Your valleys and your farms
And you'll no longer burn to be
Brothers in arms

Through these fields of destruction
Baptisms of fire
I've witnessed your suffering
As the battle raged high
And though they did hurt me so bad
In the fear and alarm
You did not desert me
My brothers in arms

There's so many different worlds
So many different suns
And we have just one world
But we live in different ones

Now the sun's gone to hell and
The moon's riding high
Let me bid you farewell
Every man has to die
But it's written in the starlight
And every line in your palm
We're fools to make war
On our brothers in arms

One band I wish I'd have seen live back in the day

The entire band is what rock n roll is all about. Withers kept that beat moving as fast as he can. I saw them in Atlanta when I was a snot nosed kid.

Saw these guys twice, and they rock
(once with Bad Co. - both original lineups)
