The national debt is a bunch of bullshit, but the historic inequality and climate change are huge threats. It may not get better than today though for those reasons. Today may be the best day of your life Cawacko, so enjoy it. Just a thought.

True, I was not old enough. That said, the economic boom began in 1982. I can't help but notice you took ONE year out of the 18 year range and pretend that because it sucked for you that somehow proves the entire period was not good for this country. The national debt is bullshit in that it isn't a problem or in that you think people are making too big a deal about it?

Climate change is not a huge threat. It has been happening for billions of years and will continue to happen.

Yeah the future generations are going to be trying to figure out how to build time machines so they can come back here and spit in your face over climate change, the debt really isn't going to be a big issue for them. A passing thought. Sort of like a mosquito bite.

The improving economy will take care of the debt, but the greatness of this country is not only defined by the economic situation. We are in an era of unprecedented freedom, happiness and opportunity unknown by previous generations.

Simply consider what my children have that I did not, they have amazing opportunity for education and freedom, they can go to school and study anything they choose, they can read about just about any topic on the internet and learn, they can create a world for themselves where we had to live in the world that was created for us.

They are safer on the streets than kids have been in generations. They have the right and freedom to be whoever they are and will be so much less forced to conform to a norm than we were.
