I am not a social justice warrior as some people are, but I am doing some things.
Yes, you are a Social Justice warrior.
social justice warrior
[social justice warrior]
NOUN
informal
derogatory
a person who expresses or promotes socially progressive views.
"these social justice warriors want to apply their politically correct standards and rules to others' speech"
That's a typical definition.
I have taught my kids that it is generally not okay to judge an individual person based on ideas about the groups they belong to.
This is promoting socially progressive views.
I have intentionally had minority friends over to the house so they do not feel it is unusual.
This is "Virtue signaling."
virtue signaling
[virtue signaling]
NOUN
the action or practice of publicly expressing opinions or sentiments intended to demonstrate one's good character or the moral correctness of one's position on a particular issue.
It's a variant of "I have several Black (or other minority) friends..." If you have to tell people that or deliberately choose this path, you are virtue signaling as well as a racist bigot because you are doing it expressly because this person or these persons are of a particular ethnicity.
I have intentionally sent them to a very diverse public school to ensure they are not educated in a way that gives them a badly skewed view of the world.
More virtue signaling. This is also a Social Justice warrior mindset where you put correct thinking (as defined by the Woke Progressive Left) and virtue signaling ahead of a good education for your kids. It's more important to you that they be properly indoctrinated and propagandized than intellectually sound.
I have sued organizations for discrimination, and dedicated a portion of my career to doing so PRO BONO.
Massive Social Justice warrior stuff going on there!
I have supported qualified minorities who I believe are fair minded for offices of importance knowing they would fight any sign of systematic racism.
Another combination of racism, bigotry, and virtue signaling. A fair minded, person who isn't racist wouldn't care what the ethnicity or gender of the person being put in an office was but rather consider only their fitness for that office.
I have donated money to schools that are majority minority that were struggling.
The epitome of virtue signaling.
I have worked to promote La Sistema music education, which if you look it up is a program devoted to ensuring that privileged and underprivileged children study music together to foster a culture that promotes a common interest among people who would otherwise not be as likely to know each other in that way.
More social justice warrior stuff. It might also be virtue signaling, particularly if you are doing it to be seen within your community and circle of friends when doing it.
Me, I judge people based on their words, actions, and deeds, not their ethnicity or gender. Nor do I pick who I associated with based on ethnicity or gender.
