What’s wrong with Woke?

How about a heroin shop, if they made a profit would that be a good thing?

Maybe a shop specializing in sexual exploitation of children?

If heroin was legal it would be fine. The fact people use it is the problem.

Sexual exploration is not something children can enter into voluntarily for many reasons so it's not the same. Hyperbole isn't a good argument.

If heroin was legal no it wouldn't.

So if the government says its illegal that makes it bad, but if they say its not illegal that is okay.

I am not arguing that its the children's fault, but I thought you might argue that we cant help it if they have customers, its the customers fault.

No not at all. Macdonalds doesn't do anything illegal or unhealthy. People go to McDonald's voluntarily. Its a choice. I may not like something but if it's legal it can be done. Shouldn't be legal? That's a different matter altogether.

I hear Trumppers complaining about people they call “Woke”.

The way I understand it, if a person tries to be aware of others, their needs and feelings, and tries to behave in a considerate way toward others, they are “Woke”.

Somehow that’s an insult?

Theft is not a considerate way to behave toward others. Insults such as calling whole populations 'traitors', 'morons' or 'racist' is not a considerate way to behave toward others. Looting and pillaging is not a considerate way to behave toward others.

Doublespeak.

It's supposed to be a dirty word for Trumptards now- like Snowflake!

Hell, I like and welcome being called that now- I am fully Woke! And I believe it's time for those Trumptards to wake up and realize they are racists and acting stupid!

I didn't say it was the children's fault . Don't say I said something I never said. This is about voluntary participation. Yes there sadly is a market for child sex as disgusting as that is but kids can't consent. Now it's different I think with adults and prosititution. Do I like it no but should it be illegal? If it's consenting adults I don't think so.

Its like when they turned elite into a bad word.

To me, being "the elite" meant you were the best at something.

I enjoy Hawley and Cruz, (Ivy League graduates) complaining about the elite.

Elitism is a bad word. It assumes you are better than someone else. That is inconsiderate of other people and arrogant.

Doublespeak.

The Republican Party has to make caring about others seem like being stupid

They are the sociopathic party

They NEED their voters to be convinced it’s foolish to care about other people

Otherwise it would be obvious that their party’s ideas are evil fucking sociopathic crap

Inversion fallacy. You are describing Democrats.

It is a big problem, but when faced with voting for Trump or Biden who did black people overwhelmingly vote for? Yes, Biden is bad on race, but hes not as bad as Trump. If Black people were to just sit it out or vote 3rd party, they would be in worse shape. . . And this ticket put Kamila on track toward presidential leadership one day, so you think she is bad for Black Americans, I dont.

Yes, NIMBY is a real problem, I try my best to avoid it.

People are free to vote how they choose. And this is far bigger than any one politician. But if you believe the Colin Kaepernick position, he said he doesn't vote because voting supports an oppressive system. Now it's hard to change an oppressive system if you don't vote but his point was no matter which person, or political party, takes office the system is still oppressive. If you take a more 1619 Project view of the country it can be argued he has a point.

NIMBYism is like a religion in California. On one hand it's understandable. People move to neighborhoods because they like how they are and don't want to see them change. A home is usually a person's largest investment and its understandable they want to protect that value. But we know the history behind zoning, redlining etc. etc.

Same with people who send their kids to private schools. They say they want to end systemic racism, support #BLM etc. but send their children to private schools. Again, I 100% understand why parents send their kids to private school. But if you live in a diverse area and do it, those actions belie the what I wrote prior.

Tulsi Gabbard, a Democratic presidential candidate and a congresswoman from Mr. Obama’s home state of Hawaii, seized on his words as a campaign message for her supporters.

“In a nutshell, Obama is saying we all need a little more aloha spirit,” she tweeted. “Being respectful & caring for one another. Not being so quick to judge. Not seeing everything as black/white. I hope you’ll join me in bringing the spirit of aloha to the White House.”

Another Democratic presidential candidate, Andrew Yang, also championed the message on Twitter.

“He is right on all counts,” Mr. Yang said.

Others called out the 44th president for being “paternalistic.”

Michael Arceneaux, the author of “I Can’t Date Jesus: Love, Sex, Family, Race, and Other Reasons I’ve Put My Faith in Beyoncé,” said he didn’t “need lessons about ‘being woke’ and ‘cancel culture’” in an op-ed for The Independent.

“I am never quite sure if Obama really thinks this naïvely or if he’s trying to convince certain sects of the population — notably young black folks, whom he just loves to lecture — that it’s better to coddle white people about their prejudices with the hopes of growth rather than speak our minds as we see fit,” he said.

Racism, which Obama used a lot, isn't the Aloha spirit.
Theft of wealth isn't the Aloha spirit.
Starting wars isn't the Aloha spirit.
Lying isn't the Aloha spirit.

Doublespeak.

We can't help it but that doesn't mean we have to provide for any customers. What they want is illegal and sick because children cannot voluntarily consent. Eating a big mac isn't illegal and mcdonald's providing them it's either. Its a voluntarily relationship. There is nothing intrinsically harmful in that relationship.

If a person tries to be aware of others, their needs and feelings, and tries to behave in a considerate way toward others, he/she has benign human attributes that people of good will have always appreciated.

WOKE goes beyond that.
WOKE suggests that people are entitled to never feel uncomfortable and never have their feelings hurt.

People are entitled to equal justice under the law.
People are entitled to fairness in the conduct of their daily activities.
People are entitled to not be harassed by things that genuinely and reasonably comprise harassment.

People are not and have never been entitled to never being uncomfortable and never being pissed off.
If that's what they want, they need to seek an existence of some sort other than human life.
