I think Black Americans can be trusted to vote in their own best interests and I think its racist to claim you know better than they do about what is good for them.
This is the trap that people fall into. They just assume 'I'm against system racism so I'll vote Democratic because that's what black people do'. Two parties, the Democrats being one of them, have dominated this country for a long time. The systems we have in place were put there by members of both of these parties. Our current President was the author of the '94 crime bill that has been dubbed The New Jim Crow. That is systemic racism. So simply voting Democratic doesn't mean one is fighting system racism.
I'll share a quote from a buddy of mine from a couple of weeks ago. He lives in a very nice Bay Area suburb. Can't get in for under $1.50m. He went to Harvard Law and is a partner at a big SF firm. He's elite. We were talking about housing and proposed development in his neighborhood that people are fighting. (My buddy is no right winger and he voted for Biden). His quote was this, "I think the view of the (his City name here) liberal elite is that we aggressively support diversity and equality as long as it doesn't adversely impact our children's education and home values."
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting liberals are the only one's who are NIMBYs because they are not. But I think his quote sums it up perfectly and until that mindset changes we won't see real change.
