IN many ways it is, pretending differently is ignoring reality. Its not awake to reality.
When you and lebron repeat a lie often enough it can actually start to seem true.

I hear Trumppers complaining about people they call “Woke”.
The way I understand it, if a person tries to be aware of others, their needs and feelings, and tries to behave in a considerate way toward others, they are “Woke”.
Somehow that’s an insult?

So, here is the problem with the Conservative message, you dont clarify.
I agree with Anatta and Cawacko when they explain the deeper meaning of the complaints, but you go around and attack people for being Elite or Woke and it sounds like pure anti-intellectualism and the opposite of what you mean.
It gives a racist or bigot cover, to justify their acting out on racism or bigotry against those who are elite at something. It leads to things like the January 6th insurrection. Can you see that?
Good point. Call me that all you like; it's a trait that my mom installed in all of us kids. I'm proud of it, and feel bad when I occasionally fail at being considerate and cognizant of someone else's feelings.
I am not against challenging them, obviously I challenge them for a living. Are you saying that there is nothing wrong with being elite, but we should be encouraged to challenge them?
I WHOLEHARTEDLY AGREE!
I just keep hearing a different sentiment expressed, which is a base attack on "the elite" for being elite. Its funniest coming from those who consider themselves elite.
Jarod, it is 2021. Did you just learn the term woke? What kind of bubble have you been living in?
People in San Francisco attack the tech elite all the time (even though most of this tech elite is politically liberal). So why are liberals attacking other elite liberals for being the best at what they do?
Ive heard it for a long time. Why do you ask? Just chose today to discuss why its an insult to those who use it as such.
We are just going to have to disagree on that, but having a different opinion than you does not mean I am pretending to be 'woke', I simply believe America still has vestiges of racism in our system and that we can do better, you disagree. That is okay, it does not justify attacking me for believing what I believe.
They need to stop calling people names just for trying to be better people.
I don't encourage feeling badly about it, but I do encourage trying to do better. Making fun of those of us who do try to do better is a great example of why systematic racism still exists in our nation.
They need to stop calling people names just for trying to be better people.
Because you woke up morning in 2021 and thought, "geez, I wonder what this woke movement is all about...?"
I agree there is racism in America but to suggest it's systemic means you either don't know what the word means or you use it simply for hyperbolic effect. It unnecessarily complicates the discussion about REAL racism. I'm not attacking you I am pointing out the absurity of your argument. If that's a problem for you, it's not that i don't care but I can't do anything about that so I don't spend much time worrying about how you feel.
That's the last thing woke fascists want to be.
I dont know, you would have to ask someone who does it. I am not sure you are correct the tech elite are mostly liberals, I have always understood that silicon valley is a very conservative voting area. Am I wrong, you would know better.
Then, tell me, what do you mean when you call someone a 'woke fascist'?

I can handle the attack, but I am pointing out its affect on the discourse.
So, lets continue the discussion, what does 'systemic' mean to you?
