What’s wrong with Woke?

The RW tards are the only ones I’ve seen to use the phrase.

Those who actually possess self-awareness and empathy don’t.

Lets test the last stayement. Did the dumboshit party say or do anything over the past 4 years that might have incited people?

Its like when they turned elite into a bad word.

To me, being "the elite" meant you were the best at something.

I enjoy Hawley and Cruz, (Ivy League graduates) complaining about the elite.

Elitist acting people, who think no one can challenge their thoughts lthat is what pisses people offl opinions are opinions whether an elitists or not!

The Republican Party has to make caring about others seem like being stupid

They are the sociopathic party

They NEED their voters to be convinced it’s foolish to care about other people

Otherwise it would be obvious that their party’s ideas are evil fucking sociopathic crap

You are such a nasty person, evangelicals vote republican, we care more about people than liberal elitists, who only speak to the problem of poor, and then expect everyone else to take care of said poor!

I dont know, you would have to ask someone who does it. I am not sure you are correct the tech elite are mostly liberals, I have always understood that silicon valley is a very conservative voting area. Am I wrong, you would know better.

Judging from the ppl my husband worked with (he is a retired software engineer/systems architect), you are correct -- they do tend to be conservative. I had put it down to the area where we lived, but he said that it's pretty much ubiquitous in the IT/tech industry.

Nowhere in San Francisco or the Bay Area is there a very conservative voting area. It's not like there are zero conservatives who work in the tech industry but it is dominated by liberals. There has been for years massive pushback against tech and the tech elite locally. The question is why do "regular" liberals push back against elite liberals in the tech field?

I don't know, I think pushing back is healthy. I do not think attacking them for being elite is healthy.

Then stop attacking.

As I look at merriam webster dictionary it says, "fundamental to a predominant social, economic or political practice". That seems to be the relevant definition. Do you agree or disagree?

Not 100%, to me when you say there is systemic racism in a system, you are not saying it is necessarily fundamental, but that it does exist in some form or another. I do not believe that racism is currently fundamental to our social, economic or political practice, but I do see where racism is, in many areas, built into the system.

Elitist acting people, who think no one can challenge their thoughts lthat is what pisses people offl opinions are opinions whether an elitists or not!

Then say that (I agree), don't attack people for actually being elite.

More and more evangelicals are starting to vote Democratic.

I hear Trumppers complaining about people they call “Woke”.

The way I understand it, if a person tries to be aware of others, their needs and feelings, and tries to behave in a considerate way toward others, they are “Woke”.

Somehow that’s an insult?

Woke ideology is based on Critical Race theory (CRT), CRT is, in turn, grounded in fringe, racist neo-Marxist -Postmodernist thought. I,ll just give you one example of why CRT is now being exposed as irrational insanity...

CRT teaches that if you are an American with white skin you are a racist oppressor. No expection. Every Whitey is an evil, privileged White Supremacist who must atone for their sins against Blacks and other people of colour.

Does that sound reasonable to you? That is what Wokeness means.

Well I submit you can't just take out a phrase (fundamental) from the definition because you don't like it. If you want to do that then the term "systemic" no longer applies and it muddies the waters. As I said I agree there is racism but it's hardly "systemic" when blacks are in positions of power across America. Systemic racism did exist when slavery was legal and Jim Crow laws ruled the land. That is no longer the case. If I can admit racism exists can you admit "systemic" racism is a present day fallacy?

You said the Silicon Valley was very conservative. Show me the last Republican elected in San Francisco or the Silicon Valley. Because one may not be a died in the wool Bernie supporter does not mean they aren't liberal. There's a certain level of pragmatism people show, Tim Cook is a Democrat but has donated to Republican candidates because it is good for Apple's business as an example.

But what I wrote dominates the news on a daily basis here locally.

If you want me to explain the issue of "systematic racism" I can do that for you quite easily,HOWEVER, it means that I would have to tell you a truth that you might find very distressing. If you think you can handle hearing it let me know, and I'll tell you what "systematic racism" really is.
