The Revolution decided that they could slingshot off of Trump, use Trump to massively advance the timeline, but he did not cause this. There is still a chance that Trump saved America by waking people up to what our leaders (all, not just political) are doing to us, but I dont think so currently. Americans are still in the large ignorant cowards, not much interested in getting better.... and besides, there is no time.

Multiple social factors. Personally, I put a lot of it on Dr. Spock and other factors that turned the Boomer generation into one of the most selfish generations in our history. Spoiled rotten like rich kids who never worked a day in their life.
