Which place?

If I was going to move to an Island it would have to be New Zeland

Absolutely. I checked into immigrating there, but I am too old, they don't want me....I even told them I did not vote for Bush either time!

2,000 plus for rent ? Heck my 25 acre farm payment was not that much....

LMAO, did you really tell them that?

I had my chance. I was accepted into, and almost went to grad school at University of Hawaii. But, seriously, the island is like 20 miles wide. There's nowhere to go. It would drive me nuts.

And as for weather and physical beaty: where I live now, is pretty close to Hawaii standards ;)

Its 44 by 30 miles. The main drawback is that I'm going to have to gamble solely on the black market. It and Utah are the only two states with zero legal gambling. Not even the lottery.

And While the Central California Coast is nice, it doesn't hold a candle to Hawaii.

I don't understand gambling regulation. As a matter of fact I think people are too uptight about people that like to gamble. I know someone who's an elderly woman, and has two of her daughters living at home with two grand kids and she'll go out hang out with friends to 3 or 4 in the morning at the local casino. She likes to do this, she doesn't spend all of her money and there are no negative effects of this habit on her life. She likes to get away because from what I've gathered, people in her house are getting on nerves. Well, anyway, the family is all up in arms and worried that she has a gambling problem. Why are people so uptight about gambling??!! There's no reason it should be illegal anywhere. Or even regulated (beyond making sure taxes are paid).

Bingo woman!

Its big brother protecting us peons from ourselves.

It sounds like you might be voting Libertarian next year. Excellent.

Well, gambling does destroy lives, as some people get addicted to it and have been known to blow rent and the kids food money on it.

However, so does alcohol. I'm not for making gambling illegal.

But I will not be voting Libertarian over it, because you know, no one dies from making gambling illegal, unlike say, from lack of access to health care. Not really my big issue.

Disclaimer: I know that the post I am responding to was made to Tiana, but since this is a public board, felt like answering it myself. This should not be taken as a "confession" that I am Tiana. Thanks.

No, you're much thirstier than Tiana, that much I know.

A lot of things can ruin lives. Donuts can ruin lives, bacon can ruin lives, big bosoms on an otherwise uncool female nearly ruined mine.

But, I will concede that gambling is a states rights issue, so be it, I don't have to like it. But what royally pissed me off was when the corn holes in congress passed the Unlawful Internet Gaming Act that prevents me from playing online poker. Freaking square ass stiff necked suits in congress.

I seriously don't understand how anybody would ever trust online gambling. When it is software that they control running your gaming, there is no way to ensure you are getting a square deal.

I had a Freinhoffers glazed-donut hole problem my senior year in college. It was bad. I could down like 7/8 of the box in one day. It wasn't cute.

Not quite. If I vote for any kind of third party candidate it will be a green. For some reason, even though in theory libertarians sound good, I just don't like them.

Yeak, the party is full of idiots, that's why I left, and am now registered "Decline to State".

I don't think computers can generate true random numbers.

They are out to make cash. Most are run off-shore. If that were the purpose what is to stop them from making software that will ensure that they get to keep your cash. Hiring fakes to "win"... or a myriad other tricks they could pull?
