Right now, I'm in the process of selecting and buying a new compact backhoe / loader. The two best choices are:

The John Deere 2025R

And the Kubota B2601

They're both about $35,000 give or take in cost with a similar features package.

Although they are similar, there are key differences that can make a difference depending upon how you plan to use it.

This link has a guy focusing on the pros and cons for his usage:

I've already watched and read on both. The thing I dislike most about the Kubota is the heel-toe forward-reverse pedal. It seems generally a better tractor than the JD otherwise. Dealer distance is kind of irrelevant here, as both are like 20 miles from home.

I've driven the heel-toe on my neighbor's kabota. It took some getting used to but not a problem. I don't know what model but it's over 10 years old.

I thought you're an electrician what do you need that for?

I buy raw land and grade the lots to make them buildable then sell for way more than I bought. I also occasionally have to trench for underground conduit and cable installs. These are very flexible machines that can do all sorts of things.

Another consideration might be a Mahindra. They are built in 5 (I believe) plants across the U.S.
