A construction business, you say. All of this makes sense with the impression I have of Fruity Pebbles.

His daddy knew how to build things and either built or inherited himself a successful construction business. He has clients, cashflow, equipment, tools, and workers. And then his loud-mouthed, fat-ass son shows up to drink tequila and smoke cigars with people who only tolerate him because he's the boss's chubby baby boy.

That company won't exist within two years of his dad's death.

That is my estimation of the situation too.

Agreed he'll probably run the company into the ground or have it taken from him.

He's built quite a personality profile on this forum. And assuming his profile picture is of him, I imagine that he's already on some watch lists. I think you're right: When he starts signing the tax returns he'll probably get some unwelcome attention.

The narrator makes it harder to hear what's being shouted, but it is clear as day when you know what to listen for. He clearly states 'You put your hands on my wife. I'm about to put my hands on you!'

And then he went to sleep. I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself, and I'm required to be in a bar at least once/week for the last 25 years.

It's pretty easy to avoid confrontations, but I have had some close calls.

It's good to have BIG friends.

I can’t pretend to speak for every individual person but I’ll offer a take. One can claim America is not a fundamentally racist country while acknowledging racism exists. One can claim racism isn’t the same detriment to success for minorities that it was during the era of Jim Crow and prior while still saying racism still exists. And because one doesn’t use the n*word or attack other people they can still be racist in more subtle and sometimes/often far more harmful ways.

Of course there probably people that exist that think racism only exists against white people like TDAK. I doubt this story would be an epiphany for them.

But this story was about an incident in Brazil. I’m no world traveler but I’ve have a chance to go to several places and racism is not unique to America nor is it simply a white and black issue.

I just don't talk shit to people unless I know them and I'm teasing them. People talk shit to me sometimes, but I can usually talk an asshole into submission. I almost never physically fight.
