Why are atheists like cypress so invested in monotheism?

When I don't have sufficient information to say something intelligent about a topic I admit it. I don't try to bullshit my way through it by frantically googling for 60 seconds -->

Sure, sure.

Frantic googling for tiny tidbits of info is your forte.

You just hate it because I question your assumptions. And that is one thing no one is supposed to do. Ironically for all your self-proclaimed reading you never seem able to address a point when it is questioned.

It's almost as if you buy books to impress other people and your "reading" is little more than running your eyes over the words. You lack any ability to extrapolate or interpolate from your reading.

You simply never QUESTION what you read. That's probably why you couldn't cut it in grad school

You miss the forest for the trees doing that. That's why you never have sufficient and necessary knowledge to speak with any depth and understanding on a wide range of topics. That's why you didn't understand Baptists are a Protestant denomination.

LOL.
When it comes to the question of whether Baptists are of the Protestant tradition, there is only one theologically correct answer.
This answer is confirmed by the Southern Baptist Convention, the National Baptist Convention USA, the American Baptist Churches USA, and Encyclopedia Britannica.

Thirty seconds of frantic Googling in a pathetically desperate desire to “prove Cypress wrong!” does nothing to alter that theological fact.

When it comes to the question of whether Baptists are of the Protestant tradition, there is only one theologically correct answer.

Theologically?

But just not historically, right? You DO understand the nature of the disagreement, right? You DO know about the English Civil War and where Protestant sects come from, right?

Thirty seconds of frantic Googling in a pathetically desperate desire to “prove Cypress wrong!” does nothing to alter that theological fact.

No, I merely noted that there are those in that faith who don't believe as you think they should. They still call themselves Baptists. Unless I am quite mistaken you aren't God and therefore you don't get to make decrees on who is what religion.

Stamp those widdle feet.

The Church I used to attend has recently had a major schism over doctrine (mostly related to ordination of gay people etc.) which resulted in part of the church splitting off from the other.

Just saying that not all members of a given faith all carry the exact same view of that faith. This is history. This is how it has always been.

To then assume that all Baptists are of one mind on the question of whether they are Protestants is to miss how religions actually function. They are always a loss amalgam with a stated intention of being a pure movement but never becoming one.

And just shouting that the Encyclopedia Britannica says x or y about the faith won't change the FACT that some within that faith see it differently.

What @Cypress can't understand is that he isn't the one who gets to claim who a Baptist actually is (anymore than he gets to tell atheists what they believe.)

This whole "Theologically correct answer" bullshit is hilarious given that it is literally ALL MADE UP. It's not real.

How can there be "one theologically correct answer" when theology isn't about anything that is real?
