Why are atheists like cypress so invested in monotheism?

Agnostics seem very open to polytheism. Look at all the agnostics who go to India to try to find spirituality.
Labels are very limiting, that's why I generally don't like them. If I had to pick a label I would identify with the word seeker, which is a word perfectly consistent with being agnostic.

I don't think Cypress is an atheist at all.
I certainly don't think he believes the Universe was created by coincidence. He think he knows there was intelligent design.
But he's doubtful ,in denial, unsure if the God of Abraham is that intelligent design that created the physical universe.

is he?

anyway the wind blows is what cypress is.

sort of.

the real reason he's a totalitarian who likes the template of a monolithic top down ruler.

he's not actually spiritual or moral.
I don't believe cypress is spiritual but he/she/it does think which I appreciate. As to morals I laugh like hell at atheists because they grew up in a civilization saturated in judeo Christian moral values but they like to pretend things like murder are bad only because we all "agree" it's bad.

I know.

all morality is based on enhancing human thriving (for all), so if you believe in malthusian / Nazi population reduction plans, morality is bad from that perspective.

have no fear.

because I'm a Christian, I preach forgiveness for insane Zionists who got their own religion wrong for so long.

@Cypress plays it coy with his religious convictions. He claims to be an agnostic but loses his shit anytime anyone so much as hints at anything unpleasant about the God of Judeo-Christianity.

My favorite part of Cypress is that whenever someone like me shows up who knows more than he does and who can call him on his bullshit, he immediately bans me.

That's how you know he's a fake intellectual. He is scared SHITLESS of someone with more education who can call him on his shit. It's hilarious!

The problem is we all have different meanings for words. Cypress is far from being a skeptic which is what agnostics are.

Agreed. @Cypress lacks the insight or critical analysis of what he normally reads. It's actually part and parcel of his schtick. He usually just quotes famous thinkers and hopes the shine rubs off on him, but he seldom seems to actually THINK about what they are saying.

I usually question his assumptions on his arguments which is when he blows a fuse and starts attacking me, followed shortly thereafter with banning.

Cypress is in search of knowledge which is what gnostics do.

I disagree. It is manifestly clear that Cypress really doesn't understand the stuff he posts on here. That's why he is incapable of defending his position without boiling down to "famous thinker X says it is!" and that's how you know all Cypress is REALLY interested in is self-aggrandizement. Hoping that people will be fooled into think him smarter just because he name checks.

And that's when he blows a fuse when someone questions him on his positions. He knows he will fail. So he insults and then bans.

Gnostics and agnostics usually know more about religion than the self-righteous.

Cypress seems to know vanishingly little if anything about Protestants. I'm guessing he's more familiar with Eastern Orthodox but he won't ever actually say. It is ABUNDANTLY clear he's had almost no exposure to Protestant church services.

Question for Wikipedia Scholar @Cypress: If you think all I ever do is frantically google, then why do my points present such a hurdle for you such that you have to ban me when I raise a point you are uncomfortable with?

Seems like if I'm as dumb as you think I am, I should be quite easy to defeat in any given debate.

But you seem more SCARED of me. You ban me from every thread where I ask you a question about your position.

Interesting, don't you think?

Why are you so scared of me? Is it because you really know in your heart of hearts that I am actually pretty well educated and possibly sharper than you are on many topics you propose to be knowledgeable about?

Hmmm?

(Don't worry, you don't have to answer out loud. You and I both know the truth. ;) )

 Why don't you write a book about me Perry? How many hours a day do you spend thinking about me? Six hours? Eight? Ten? You need to bring this kind of resentment and obsession to the attention of your shrink asap!

 Why don't you write a book about me Perry?

I'd say the same thing about you, Cypress. YOU are the one who gets me threadbanned and then proceeds to ATTACK ME. What kind of fuck up does that? Well, I know...it's the kind of fuck up who realizes someone is on to his game and can outplay him every day and twice on Sundays.

So you ban me. You are scared of me. I find that kind of funny.
