Why atheists, Satanists, heathens, etc can't be Americans or Westerners

Even as an atheist, I don't claim to know there is no god. I merely am atheist by default. I cannot disprove the existence of a god anymore than someone can prove the existence of one. Through logical positivism, I understand that the burden of proof is on belief rather than disbelief, but I'm not arrogant enough to believe that I know enough about the universe to definitively say there is no supreme being.

I'd never say that we know for sure there are no gods, elves, angels, and such. But as of now, belief in those beings is superstition.

That's when the word "Deism" started to be used in this context. But the belief in a non-active creator deity goes back at least to the Ancient Greeks.

Sure, but that concept went by different names back then, and it had different connotations. Much of what defines Deism is specifically European Renaissance/Enlightenment in nature. The Ancient Greeks had a very different way of looking at things, even if they inspired much of the Enlightenment.

Nope. Morals and ethics are apriori. Religions codified and profited off the rules that societies established to live in groups. There were ethics and morals long before Christianity was established.

There were ethics and morals before Christianity, but most morals and ethics derive from culture, not from human nature. Culture and religion are usually intertwined.

In short, very little about ethics and morality is innate. Most is learned.

What of it? They also tortured people, abused children and got up to all sorts of jolly games that Christians found incompatible with anything they could believe.

My point was that, when considering most cultures today got where they were through imperialism, it doesn't accomplish much to dwell on it.

this is the main human achievement. the war on consciousness is the war on humanity.

...

logic is white supremacy.

That's pretty much where the left is headed. It's beginning to look a lot like that part of 1984 where they try to control people's thoughts.

As much as the left denounces religion, they certainly have gone a long way toward building up their own version of it.

Where is the Christian left? I don't know any.

I'm good friends with one.

Typically, you'll find them among the groups that Cypress mentioned earlier. Lutherans and Quakers tend to be the most liberal Christians. Many of them are part of NGOs that promote open borders.

When Trump appeals to left wing Christians I'll care.
