Why do people still believe in Jesus and Christianity?

Bullshit. Freedom of religion is freedom from religion. Protestants are free to worship without having the Roman Catholics impose their religion upon them. Trumpians are free to worship their Orange Jesus without having Protestants impose their religion upon them.

Same bullshit call on your claim about religion in government since government can't impose particular religious views upon Americans who don't support that particular religion.
Good point. It took at least a century for the scotus to rule the religion clause applied to the states, not just at the federal level.

I can count on one hand the number of times in my life somebody has asked me to come to their church or prayer group, and it was always done politely and without any used car salesman pressure tactics.

My mother had a discussion group on the Gospel of John and never asked me to participate. Although in hindsight I wish I had because it might have been intellectually interesting even at a secular/historical level.

why do you not leave open the possibility of Jesus in your heart?

Because you love evil and always are against the golden rule?

Asking and forcing, as you've noted, are two different things. When one religion seeks to impose their beliefs through the rule of law, that goes against American values of unalienable rights such as the freedom from religion.

separation of church and state is not the right to silence christians.

do you think it is?
Duh. No shit, Fredo. What other words of wisdom did you learn today?

No. Only fucking morons think the Constitution permits our government to silence anyone's religious beliefs that cause no harm to others. The Party of Trump believes in Prosperity Christianity, which is their choice, but they cross the line when they want to lower the age of consent to age 13 or treat women like chattel.

should there be an age of consent for trans surgery?

and what should the age be?

It's been obliterated by scholars for over a hundred years. We know that Jesus himself is most likely pure myth.
Even if it's all bullshit in the end if it brings peace and meaning to people's lives it's a net positive.

Why are atheists so hell bent on being right? It's like a religion of it's own without any moral benefits.

JPP Republicans to a man have been frantically defending Matt Gaetz's statutory rape of a high school girl.
Why shouldn't they? They defended Roy Moore's statutory rape of 14 year olds and have defended Trump's association with pedophiles and sex slavers for over 8 years.

Obviously Jesus has done nothing for you, Joe. You refute all of his teachings and choose to walk in the darkness with Satan.
