Why do right wingers always bash education?

Education is, and always has been, one of the few public entities that is basically defenseless. Teachers have a Union, but it is not a traditional blue color Union, and is too disjointed to offer any kind of unified rebuttal. But the field itself is totally vulnerable to attacks of any kind, in other words, it is easy

But why would they bash education? Do they want people to be stupid?

I don't get it.

Oh course you don't because you're a retarded leftist. Since you're a retard you also can't comprehend that disagreeing with whats
being taught isn't the same as bashing education. You can't help it. You're a victim of a polluted system.

America had the best education in the world for many decades. However, the wealthy saw profits in education. They wanted to take it over. Their first step was to convince people that teachers are a great problem and education was terrible and keep pounding it until it is believed by the masses. Then defund it. Make it dependent on property taxes. That of course means a lot more money in suburbs and wealthy enclaves.
The super-wealthy have no interest in funding healthcare or education for the dirty masses. That money belongs to them.
The public education system in the 50s and 60s was so much better. The DeVos types took it over.

DeVos in Michigan is a good example. She owned several private schools and bashed the public education system.

You see a similar think in higher education. DeSantis went to Yale but spends all his time bashing elitist institutions.

The Right Don’t Need No Education

Not that long ago most Americans in both parties believed that colleges had a positive effect on the United States. Since the rise of Trumpism, however, Republicans have turned very negative. Recent polling shows an overwhelming majority of Republicans agreeing that both college professors and high schools are trying to “teach liberal propaganda.”
