The public education system in the 50's and 60's was segregated. Is that what you are suggesting we go back to? Were those segregated schools better for minority students? We also spent far less money on ESL learners. Should we try to recreate that as well? Many women were not allowed in the work force so many of the best and brightest women went into teaching. Today they become CEO's, entrepreneurs etc. Should we recreate the conditions where they go back to being teachers again?

My folks are in the mid 70's. They went to a 3K person high school. They said there were zero black kids, zero LatinX kids (let alone any ESL learners) and zero Jewish kids. There were a couple of Asian kids (their parents were professors at Ohio State).
I think it almost impossible to have those demographics at a school today. They said it was an excellent school. But that's what it was like back then.
