Instead of using militias as the excuse to protect private ownership of firearms--

something that could have been done infinitely more artfully than it was--

the US Constitution should have simply banned all private militias of any kind, paid or unpaid,

and the right to assemble should have specifically excluded the rights for such groups to assemble.

That's the obvious part but I personally would have gone much further.

I would have also banned stupid caps, flannel shirts, pickup trucks not owned by a registered business, scraggly beards,
annoying bumper stickers, too many flags, offensively bad grammar, country music, white wooden churches, NASCAR, beer in cans, and much more.
