Why homosexuality should be banned

First, I don't believe it is a minority in the US. Second, a minority fought for independence from a King, and won. Third, popularity of a position doesn't make it right.

So by virtue of your points you can admit that perhaps your side is wrong?

Because traditional marriage is the backbone of the family unit as far back as biblical times, refined to one man and one woman through centuries of trial and error. The union of one man and one woman has always met the traditional definition but queer marriage has never met it. Queer marriage is a massive step backwards and sideways.

This is such a bullshit claim.

If gay marriages are allowed, do you think there will be fewer straight marriages? Do you think there will be more gay relationships?

The answer to both questions is "No". So if straight marriages are the backbone of civilization (and I think our social structures have changed, but that is another topic) then they will still be the backbone of civilization. Having additional marriages that are different does not change that one iota. And gay marriages will not change the straight marriages one iota.

So the entire claim is nonsense.

Traditional marriage defined by whom, or by what organization??
Each State has its own definition.

That brings up a good point. If enablers in Massachusetts want queers to marry, I don't have a problem with that. Just don't expect the rest of the States to recognize it. "Don't Tread on Me."

That they can. But if they can do all this what value does the 'institution' of marriage provide, if all the 'benefits' exist outside the institution as well.

Tax benefits do not exist outside the institution of marriage. Joint adoption of children does not exist outside the institution of marriage.
