The "Creator" of the DofI is nonspecific and could simply mean nature. That is the way deists, like Jefferson, understood the word and used it.

The DofI makes clear that the powers of government are derived from the consent of the governed as opposed to emanating from the divine right of kings.

obviously......the DoI doesn't say people from Australia don't also have rights....it actually mentions ALL......

However, the book of Jeremiah does not mention any specific rights, does it? You just ASSUME that the founding fathers wrote the DOI with the hand of God leading them.

Perhaps they were a group of independent thinkers that were sick to death of King George....but needed the support of the religious to enact their rebellion.....IIRC, my own State of Pennsylvania(Quaker/Puritan) was against the rebellion...besides Franklin that is. Remember...there were 13 colonies and John Adams colony of Massachusetts was the only one affected by brutality at the time. Adams had to fight hard unanimity....he personally chose Jefferson to write up the document because of his influence among the Continental Congress. Adams was a Unitarian.

Just like there is nothing in it to support his fraudulent creationist science. ???....didn't assume it, didn't claim it......just answered a question about how anyone could have dreamed up the concept of a right.......as to who they attributed them to, I expect they could have said a FSM gave them to us.....or they found them under a cabbage leaf......or even that they just sat around and all agreed they were dandy rights that everyone should have......but as much as you folks want to deny it, they didn't......they said what they said......
