Education is supposed to educate you. Whether it's for profit or non-profit, the final product is supposed to be useful and right now much of our education system turns out rubbish. Compared to other industrial, first tier nations the US level of education is mediocre. Our per pupil spending however is one of the highest on the planet. We're not getting our money's worth.

In colleges of education. They don't major in English, they major in Education. Today in the US you can have a PhD in physics and a decade of experience but you cannot teach because you don't have a teaching degree from a college of education. On the other hand, you can teach science in a public school having no background in science but having a PhD in education from a college of education. That's the problem we have in education today.

You need to figure out that teachers major in Education, not some other field in college because they need a degree in Education, not English, or math, or science to be certified to teach today. Expertise in the field they teach isn't required. A degree in teaching is required.

They can take two semesters of freshman English like everybody else and graduate with a degree in Education then become a teacher teaching English at a K-12 school. They can't do that if they graduate with an English degree but not one in Education.

I know the vast majority of teachers take the same two freshman English courses all undergraduates do and that's all they need to meet their degree requirement in Education. That's a fact, and one you would know if you had attended college or gone to a university, like I did.

Then prove it, because everything says the opposite. No specialized subject knowledge is required, but a degree in education / teaching is a requirement. In some subjects in high schools having a specialized degree or background in say science, math, or whatever is preferred, but it isn't mandatory but the education degree still is.

We could also use far more people willing to go into the trades and technical jobs that don't require a diploma. The problem with that is it pushes a false narrative. For those simply too stupid to go to college or get a skilled trade, they are going to make lousy money simply because no one will pay someone more to do little--except Leftists who demand a "living wage" or "$15 an hour minimum wage." Those that choose a trade or technical skill can make as much or more as college grads do. They also have the dual advantages of getting paid for their labor immediately and not having a huge debt to pay off like college students do.

all education is important. some more important than others. like one post said, the fact that trump's biggest core base of fools are white men without a college education, proves going to college is important to developing a person into being a better citizen.
