Why should the United States of America remain a fifty-state country?

America's current fifty state configuration GUARANTEES that regressive Republicans will be, by a significant margin. OVER REPRESENTED in government as a percentage of the population.

The framers gave us a government that could easily become the inefficient and unrepresentative debacle that it is now.

It is impossible for a person capable of thinking it through to believe that America can function as a modern democracy. The founders lacked the courage and vision to design it that way, and that's why newer, more modern democracies outperform us
as much as they do.

Most of the people in Alabama and Oklahoma have totally incompatible values with the people in New York and California.
We don't have any desire to live by the same principles and thus no reason to be parts of the same nation.

People have a certain sentiment about America that's not based on reality.
Sentiment has a valid place, but it shouldn't completely remove reason.
The States of America ever being "United" is not a reasonable concept at this point.

Why should people with completely incompatible values try to share borders, laws, tax codes, and a government in general?

We see the anger and hatred in America today.
There's no sane reason to believe that it will do anything but get worse. It's getting worse by the minute right now.
The hatred is palpable, and as we're divided so evenly, half the country is ALWAYS going to be in a stage of white hot rage,
even if it's not always the same half.

For now, we don't seem to have the stones to do anything about it.
We're going to make ourselves the new Afghanistan. Remember these words. It can't NOT happen the way we're going.
Only when things get that bad will people see the value of partition as the people of the USSR, Yugoslavia, and Czechoslovakia saw it not that long ago.

By then, however, there won't be much to save.
We'll have burnt most of it down by then.
And history will view us as the most pathetic assholes in the history of the human species.
And if that's the language used, it will have been too kind.

The configuration is by design.

I live in a county w/ twice the population as the entire state of Alaska....

We have two senators rePing 40 million ppl in this state, Alaska also has two senators rePing their interest as does Wyoming, Montana etc whose combined population does not exceed the tri-county area moreless this state........

That & the 3/5's bull shit etc was part of the compromise to get them to agree to federate the colonies..

As bad as it was/is they would not agree if not for these things~something consider/weigh......

While I could probably come up w/ a few dozen reasons why breaking up the union is not a good idea, my one major compelling reason @ the moment is our competition w/ our major economic rival & growing adversary, China..

There is nothing they would like better than for the USA & it's economy to be spit into competing factions..
