Battle Tanks and Helicopter Gunships are OK though?

The Federal Government has to take a Blood Oath at Waco NEVER to attack Americans with Military Equipment.
It has to be a fair fight, dagger for dagger, side arm for side arm, sniper rifle for sniper rifle.

Course, this is just my opinion.

So if the "government" -- that nebulous distant enemy you all fear so much -- were to suddenly decide that all liberals must be rounded up and interred, or all Republican voters must be sent to re-education camps -- your guns are going to stop that? You don't think that in the extremely unlikely event such a decision was made and implemented, that they would NOT use missiles, tanks, gas, smart bombs, etc. on us?

Now *that* is delusional.

ETA: In the event that "the government" were to decide to do the above, I doubt seriously if "they" would be concerned about "political suicide."

I realize I have taken a minority position here, AND I probably wouldn't be the first in Battle ... in fact ... time for a short story?

Two Bounty Hunters from WAY out of town show up at my door. About midnight. They say "We need to search your house". I say "Really?". They say they're going to search my house and look for my son (some Bail he skipped out on). I say "He's not here". They say "We think he is, we're going to search your house. I say " That won't be happening". hahahaha ... so you can see how this is playing out, right?
So one guy is on the phone and this other guy (his name is 'Danger') is holding a pistol or stun gun at his chest so I can't see what it is. We stand there in silence for about 30 seconds. I say "Make a move". The guy with the phone mumbles something and walks off my porch leaving me and 'Danger' facing each other. He begins to shrink. I say "What's going on man?". He just shakes his head. I tell him "Let me know when the Police arrive". I walk inside and shut the door. I call the Police and tell them there are two Burglars at my door and it looks like one of them has a gun. About 15 minutes later, 6 cop cars with lights (no sirens) show up at the same time. They bang on my door. I look out the window, there must be at least 10 cops standing on my porch and another 10 surrounding the house. I look out the window and the lead cop says "We can do this the easy way or we can do this the hard way". hahahaha ... I say "You guys look legit, c'mon in". I go around and open the door, and like, 5 seconds, all 10 of them are swooping in my house. They all spread out, looking in my Dryer, Pantry, closets (one closet was locked and the guy was ready to draw his gun. I told him "No problem" and unlocked it for him). At about this time, one guy found my son sleeping like a baby upstairs, dragged him down in handcuffs and turned him over to the Bounty Hunters. My son, still half asleep, gazes around at all the blinking lights and dozens of cops and says "All this for $200 bucks". hahahaha ... I say "Do you remember the House phone number?" (since everybody has speed dial now, no one remembers phone numbers anymore). He says "Yeah". They drag him out to this old white pick up truck the so-called 'Bounty Hunters' arrived in. These guys looked like they got their badges from WalMart or maybe through Amazon. It was fucked up.

Anyway, like I said, ... I probably won't be the FIRST guy throwing myself on the Barricades. :)
 
The first thing Tyrants do is find those who are armed and disarm them. Our founders correctly had a distrust of Government. We, the sheeple, should have a healthy distrust of Government no matter what party.

Anyone who takes the Governments side, much like the lunatics on the left and the FAKE media are now doing, are fools in the extreme.

We, as citizens, do have a right to be armed in order to protect ourselves and our property. It isn't so much to protect us from the tyranny of a standing Army. Any Army can surely overwhelm private citizens armed with handguns and rifles. But rather, to ensure that those in power would be reminded of a potential blood bath should they try to use the military for such a cause.

The reality is that in today world, the notion that our military would turn against their brothers, cousins, parents, uncles and friends to support a tyrannical government is the remotest of possibilities. That does not mean we should just turn into a bunch of willing sheep and let a Fascist Party like the Democratic Party of the Jackass, strip us of our rights just because they stupidly place their faith in Government institutions; which ironically, they currently no longer believe to be sacrosanct as long as usurpers from the opposing political ideology control it.

So no, we the sheeple should not give up these rights simply because a Fascist ideology like the Democratic Party of the Jackass stupidly claims Government makes us safe.

whats funny is that y'all can't see the forest for the trees. think about numbers. 300 MILLION to maybe 10 million at most, but more likely 8 million. the government wouldn't stand a chance.

Sure. Except for the part where ppl who have children/g-children would do almost ANYTHING to save/protect them. It is not that hard to get compliance in a population -- even an armed population. Take their children. If you doubt that this is effective, check out the history of "Indian schools." To be fair, however, their children were taken after they were subjugated by superior numbers, firepower, and disease.

A most effective warfare tactic is to target soft civilian targets like hospitals, schools, stores. Go after the children first. If you want total subjugation, that's what you do. Your 8M govt. military could do this easily with their own superior firepower, nerve gases, and biological agents. Sure, there would be a long time guerrilla warfare thing.... but the United States as we are now would cease to exist and be ripe for the plucking. Your arsenal and mine would do nothing.

The best we civilians can do is to not vote in would-be tyrants like Drumpf or others of his ilk.
