Wolf v Viking

So my plan is to pull the trigger tomorrow....there is a long wait for appliances now even on the high end because of COVID....people spend a lot of time at home and have money to burn, so why not get new appliances?....and I am closer to death with each passing day, and hyperinflation is coming, I am on a mission to convert my cash into things of value before my money vanishes.

So I have been planning to do a Wolf stove mainly because a local dealer handles them, I want to support my hometown. But in the interest of due diligence I called Albert Lee in Tacoma to see if they deliver to Olympia (they do), and to see if I should change my mind. Like I said, I intend to do it tomorrow, the piece of shit GE that I have had for only five years has developed another problem, I am annoyed. So I asked "Please give me your spiel on why I should buy a Viking over a Wolf?". The response was "I would go the other way, Viking sold out about 12 years ago, the quality keeps going down but they are still priced like they are the old Vikings, Wolf did not do that".

SOLD!

I hope you enjoy it.

If you're worried about hyper-inflation then refinance your house for 30 years and take all the cash out that you can. That way when the dollar bottoms out you pay it back with shitty dollars.

Then invest the cash into mutual funds that invest in companies that sell essentials: toilet paper, soap, building supplies.

Well I am in the process of putting something like $30K into my house, I just put $6k into my wife's Jeep and my Mercury...which I almost never use now except as a hound mobile but one of them refuses to get into the Jeep, the Mercury Miles are important miles. Whatever is left over I thinking sinking at least $10K into gold coins which I will put in a safe deposit box and then by then hopefully the stock markets have done their crashing (It's coming...100% suure) and I will go back into them.

Thats the current plan, but I have been known to change my mind, I am always looking for a better plan.

BTW I got told that my Piece of Shit GE, GE Appliances now a fully Chinese company, was made in Kentucky.

Update:

So it turns out that Wolf does not have territories (never did) and that Albert Lee in Tacoma sells them and delivers to Oly twice a week. AL is a big regional company. But get this.....they need all the money before the order is placed, and said that I should expect delivery around the first of June. This is about $5k...it is on sale currently.

My local company will take a $100 down but there is no need because they have three in the Warehouse.

I will have it just as soon as the local Wolf Certified installer can get to me.

:hedb:

UPDATE:

So I am still waiting....the installer is very busy and behind because people have been buying massive numbers of appliances since the pandemic started....they are home a lot....people mostly have had all kinds of money to blow....a lot of them decide now is a great time to have better applainces.

Plus his truck "blew up"....I did not ask for particulars but he had to get a new truck, and he lost some work days dealing with the trauma and getting a rental.

My only five year old GE POS (Chinese company, made in Kentucky....these are not your parents quality ranges......we generally dont do that anymore...we love to fill lands!) is annoying me.

Tomorrow we hope. Please think of me. This has been an ordeal. There has been a disturbance in my perfect spoiled life.

So a little back story.....my wife has this thing like Baby Fever where she wants a redo upgrade of the kitchen...and she dont cook....

She compensates with sex.....and I am a Mid West boy.......I dont have any call for fancy.

So I am getting a Wolf and a new kitchen sink.

I spect there are maybe 3 here who get it.

My privoledge is undeniable.
