I don't know for sure, I have not made up a fixed opinion on that. If the 'fixed income' were low enough it could foster the rewarding work not wealth, by giving even the poorest a toehold, and it would be sustainable if we took that money out of what we use to bailout the wealthy everytime they get in trouble.

On the other hand, there would be a segment that would simply abuse it.

If one is paid for not working, how is that fostering rewarding work??? You are being irrational.

Corporate socialism worked damned good in this country, for those that got it, look at Halliburton, KBR, Pfizer and Trump companies.

Buzzword fallacy. Doublespeak. Corporations are not socialism.
Halliburton is a corporation that sells oil well support equipment and services (they build the rigs, install them, and help operate them). They make good money at it.
KBR is an engineering and construction corporation. They make good money doing the same kind of things for the chemical and aerospace industry that Halliburton does for the oil industry.
Pfizer is a corporation producing pharmaceuticals. They are one of several companies currently producing vaccines for covid19.
The Trump corporation does real estate development. It buys real estate and fixes them up making them nicer properties. Some it keeps and charges rent for, others are sold for profit. Each project is operated as a separate subsidiary for local tax and investor reasons.

None of these are socialism. All of them are producing products that people want to buy. All of them are successful businesses that are privately owned and issue common stock on the stock market.
