Social Security, Medicare & Military ( Defense) made up about 56% of the Federal budget.

TANF is welfare proper, and is now only temporary & mostly given to low income families with children, particularly single mothers to prevent child homelessness.

People with Parkinson's, Down Syndrome, Cerebral palsy, Schizophrenia ( to name a few) often struggle to do much, If any work.

TANF isn't the only form of handouts to freeloaders.

Those receiving SS and Medicare contributed while working. Those receiving TANF, etc. don't pay the taxes that fund them.

Defense is a delegated authority of the federal government.

There's an easy way to prevent homelessness, have those that produce the children support them.
