You raped Bill Clinton's Cousin?

Your opening tone set the response as follows:First and foremost Governors on both sides of the aisle have made this same mistake...You go on another rant dividing Christians from non Christians Democrats from Republicans alluding that somehow only a Christian Conservative Governor would set a criminal free...and make this mistake!

The simple fact is that this perp had a very good Attorney who appealed and motioned over and over and somehow convinced Huckabee that a grievious error had been made in the conviction...most likely than not a ACLU liberal attorney! You claim that somehow his Christian supporters wanted to penalize the victim who you claim was not a Christian...You guys need a new stick this is getting really old!

You're ignorance of the Dumond case is not surprising. Why you choose to speak on the matter is beyond me though.

Does ANYONE remember the Willie Horton ads? Dukakis was SKEWERED by the press for that, and it was just a furlow. Huckabee SAT ON LETTERS from other victims of this guys sexually predatory acts. Why isn't it that everyone that have ANY sense at all say that Huckabee is not fit for office? Whether you are Dem or Rep you should decry this guy EVER being elected. He sat on information that if the Parole board had gotten it they would have NEVER paroled him. But hey, it's an election year and he's a right wing christian and they control the republican party so "thou shalt speak no evil of another Republican."

You being a Attorney and all...should know better...letters from victims are relevant to parole cases...however this case was motioned by the perps Attorney...talk to his attorney if you have a gripe!

He isn't fit for office.

If Huckabee had specifically sat out to give him parole, whenever the parole board didn't want to and still considered him dangerous, that's another matter enirely.

Yes I know about the Dukasis case, and I think that if Huckabee was a Dem, he is out of the race, today. Dead on arrival. But he’s not a dem.

And of course as you point out, this is far worse. He sat on the info and he did it at the bequest of religious right supporters of his campaign, because they are obsessed and rotted through and so diseased with Clinton hate that they would say of a 17 year old violent rape victim “that rape never happened”.

They owned him and he delivered and anyone following his campaign understands they own him still. They are the only reason he is rising in the primaries. What is he going to deliver to them this time?

Exactly................!

and this did not happen...all this rhetoric is just hype...and conservative bashing without merit!

If you can't read an article beerboy, then SIT DOWN and STFU while the adults talk.

Please cite this conclusion..........

I just read Soc's response...

The parole board wouldn't have given him parole if Huckabee hadn't hidden information and pressured them. Which does mean this was Huckabee's fault, whether or not intentional.

Y'all are making excuses for Darlas un-merited rant and interpretation of what occurred!

Here's a short timeline:

1) On Aug. 29, 1996, the parole board denied Dumond parole on a 4-1 vote.

2) On Sept. 10, 1996, the board took another vote, going 5-0 against recommending executive clemency and 5-0 against recommending an executive pardon.

3) On Sept. 20, Gov. Huckabee announced his intention to commute Wayne Dumond’s sentence to time served.

4) Under state law, the governor had to wait at least 30 days — but not more than 120 — after his Sept. 20 clemency announcement to allow the public, legislators, prosecutors, and other interested parties to present their views before he made a final decision. Huckabee was required to make a decision before Jan. 20, 1997.

5) Huckabee met with the parole board in an executive session. The board did not allow its recording secretary to attend a closed session with the governor regarding Dumond, nor was the session taped, a departure from custom.

6) January 13, three days before the vote, Huckabee reappointed Steele — named to the board by Huckabee’s Democratic predecessor Jim Guy Tucker — to the parole board.

&) January 16, four days before Huckabee would have to make a decision on commuting the sentence the board votes 4-1 in favor of parole.

7) Huckabee releases a statement that day stating: “I concur with the board’s action and hope the lives of all those involved can move forward. The action of the board accomplishes what I sought to do in considering an earlier request for commutation ...

“In light of the action of the board, my original intent to commute the sentence to time served is no longer relevant.”

Has anyone else noticed that BB-Brain has suddenly taken to calling male posters “bimbo” every once in a blue?? This is to insulate himself from accusations of being a dirty old bastard who gets off on calling Tiana and I names like bimbo and ho. Instead of stopping it all together, he got a right-wing brainstorm. “I’ll just call men those names once in a while too…heh heh heh”.
That folks, is the inner-workings of the brain of a right wing cretin. Not much going on up there, and what is going on, is both transparent and moronic.

The perps attorney presented arguments for a grievious error that occurred in the conviction process...it is the Governors responsibility to review any evidence or motion by the defense in such matters...how does this become a Christian pressure of penalizing the victim...?

Nope..............

First degree rape is worse than first degree murder. The only time you let these guys out of prison is whenever they've been cleared of charges. For 1000 years, rape has been treated far too lightly, because women are "property".
