Again, I received mine over 20 years ago. I don't know the exact procedures as I have never personally requested a Capitol or White House flag. I was just told how my sponsor went about it.

It's been almost 22 years since I retired. There's not a single reason in the world for me to stay up to date on how retirees get flags now...

What kind of "official proof"? No record of the request goes into a service jacket, so I wouldn't have a record of the request which was filled out, nor would such "proof" likely be available to me.
