Simple question. It's an anonymous poll but both my wife and I are armed. Too many fucking morons, especially in red hats, to not carry self-protection.
Understood about kids. Although there are ways to mitigate the danger, there's still a risk. As for the wife, a lot of fear is based upon the unknown. Teaching her to shoot a pellet gun in the backyard is one way to alleviate some fears. Taking a firearms safety class together and with her shooting a .22 pistol at an indoor range will further give her comfort.I don't. My wife is absolutely horrified of guns, particularly with young kids in the house. My kids are older - youngest is 16. Once he's an adult, I fully intend to purchase a firearm for protection.
How many times have you used it? If none, then your logic fails.Simple question. It's an anonymous poll but both my wife and I are armed. Too many fucking morons, especially in red hats, to not carry self-protection.
When I lived in New Orleans I did. Not since I moved from there in 1991.Simple question. It's an anonymous poll but both my wife and I are armed. Too many fucking morons, especially in red hats, to not carry self-protection.
From around the late ‘70s until I left N.O., I had two friends and an uncle who were murdered in that cesspool. How many times have you used it? If none, then your logic fails.
Even the UN respects the basic right of self-defense...although that does vary by country in application. Being in car means being inside a glass box if attacked by one or more people intending to harm you. There's a difference between a nutjob screaming at you and one who is breaking windows with a baseball bat.In almost all foreign countries, there is an obligation to retreat. Basically, if you can retreat safely, there is no self defense. In these other countries, they would see being in a car to be an excellent way to retreat, so would question why you would need a gun in a car.
I am not saying a completely agree, I am just adding what the rest of the world thinks.
Better to have one and not need it than need one and not have it.From around the late ‘70s until I left N.O., I had two friends and an uncle who were murdered in that cesspool.
So carrying a gun there is like wearing a seatbelt.
So far I’ve never needed my seatbelt but it’s the prudent thing to do.
This poor lady would still be alive if she had a gun in her car.
And I have heard of folks in N.O. that have successfully used their weapon against an assailant.Judge holds firm on trial date for four teens accused in Linda Frickey’s death
Judge Holmes also decided to hold a hearing about potential jurors who may have been eliminated due to prior criminal convictions.
That issue caused a two-week shutdown of criminal trials in Orleans because such juror elimination is now illegal in Louisiana.

So they can’t find a jury in N.O. that doesn’t have criminal convictions. Imagine that.
I honestly believe these...

YOUR logic fails.
If I thought I needed a weapon I'd get one. I'm not anti-gun. I AM against civilians, especially kids having access to assault rifles.Simple question. It's an anonymous poll but both my wife and I are armed. Too many fucking morons, especially in red hats, to not carry self-protection.
Hmm... let me guess why you thought you needed a firearm in New Orleans. Could it be....When I lived in New Orleans I did. Not since I moved from there in 1991.
It’s almost negligent not to if living there.
I went grocery shopping today. I like wearing cargo pants or shorts and carry a pocket 9mm in a side pocket. I hope to never use it and, to avoid shooting myself, keep the chamber empty. It's a resource of last resort. If shooting starts, the cops should be heading toward the noise and I'll be heading away from it dragging as many innocents with me who want to go.I have never touched a gun, though I may have moved my sons AK-47ish case when it was here for a couple of weeks.
Considering today's political and economic environment, I'd advise acquiring both a scoped, large bore hunting rifle and a pistol, lots of ammo and to become proficient in the use of both.If I thought, I needed a weapon I'd get one. I'm not anti-gun. I AM against civilians, especially kids having access to assault rifles.
Where did I mention blacks?Hmm... let me guess why you thought you needed a firearm in New Orleans. Could it be....

I had no idea Dallas was that bad.I went grocery shopping today. I like wearing cargo pants or shorts and carry a pocket 9mm in a side pocket. A good reason to live away from large cities. I only go to Dallas for medical reasons and otherwise avoid both Dallas and Fort Worth.I had no idea Dallas was that bad.
