I drive a tank.
Of course you do, Fredo. No doubt you are very good at making VROOOM, VROOOM! noises too.

Let's take a situation that is a bit more vague. You see another driver with something that looks like a gun. In most US states, you have no obligation to retreat, so you can shoot the other driver in self defense. In most of the rest of the world, you have an obligation to retreat. That means only when absolutely cornered can you claim self defense, so you are required to flee in the car you are lucky to be in.

Now lets say the gun is not real. Or the other driver had no intention to shoot you. Or whatever. The point is that in the rest of the world the other driver is not dead, and in the USA the other driver is another victim of mistaken self defense.
Hotheads can overreact. I can see MAGAts shooting kids, but @WinterBorn struck me as having a much cooler head.

If I see a gun, and it is not pointed at me, I figure I show my gun and dissuade them from continuing.

My rules are:
1. Never pull a gun unless you plan to use it.
2. If you use it, shoot to kill.

A double-tap is a recommended minimum, but there's a lot to be said about emptying the magazine. Just be sure stray rounds don't end up hurting an innocent.

I always told my wife, and later my g/f, to empty the gun. Easier to claim they feared for their life.

That's the advice police have told me. One neat hole between the running lights is a harder sell of "I was in fear of my life" than a couple in the chest followed by a few in the walls and ceiling. :)

when someone pulls a gun, I pull out my dick.

And to be clear, I am not arguing the rest of the world is right. I am saying that the rest of the world has a different definition of what is self defense, and that makes having a gun in a car less reasonable.

Agreed other countries are different. The thread is about carrying a gun in the car in the US, not packing heat in Germany or Japan.
