Alabama or OSU?

Yep. And if they could've gotten the committee to ignore the 30 point blowout at the hands of a 5 loss Iowa, they would have gotten in. The blowout by Iowa is what cost them the berth.

What the committee didn't seem to ignore was Saban's lips pressed against their asses.

The number of conference games means something. But not as much as you are claiming.

Alabama played 3 conference games against teams with losing records. Vandy, Arkansas, and TN. They ended the season with records of 5-7, 4-8, and 4-8 respectively.

Ohio State played 5 conference games against teams with losing records. Indiana, Rutgers, Maryland, Nebraska, and Illinois. Those teams ended the season with records of 5-7, 4-8, 4-8, 4-8, and 2-10, respectively.

So you will excuse me if I don't act too impressed over their scheduling an extra 4-8 team and a 2-10 team.

In fact, Ohio State played 6 teams that ended up with a losing record. Alabama only played 4 teams with losing records.

Interesting how when something helps Alabama you consider it meaningful but when it hurts them, it really isn't that important.

Alabama beat up the top contender 5-6 Mercer the week prior to getting beat by Auburn. I thought those warm up games were supposed to help prepare for the big ones.

Alabama has ZERO wins against any team currently in the top 15 and their only loss was to a team that is highly ranked. OSU won their conference and beat some notable teams. Alabama couldn't win their division.

1 loss v. 2 losses
And Alabama didn't get blown-out by a team with 5 losses.

If she thinks she watched the live game last night, I wouldn't believe anything she tells me.
We'll see;) I'm waiting anxiously...I was watching Basketball last evening, and if I missed such an awesome buttwhooping, I'm going to be sad...

You mean like Ohio State beating up 2-10 Illinois?

OSU played 6 teams who ended the season with losing records. Alabama played only 4. And none as weak as Illinois.

I thought we would not make the playoffs. But the committee sees Alabama as the 4th best team in the country. Complain if you want. It changes nothing.

What the committee didn't seem to ignore was Saban's lips pressed against their asses.

What Saban did was not ass kissing. What I saw was him pointing out that if Alabama had lost by 30+ points to a nobody, they wouldn't be in the conversation.

If you watched it last Saturday night, you didn't miss one. If she thought she watched it last night, while it was still a whooping, it wasn't live.

Ohio State would beat Alabama, though:) Again...
But we aren't complaining...We have the First National College Championship, after all:) And how did we accomplish that?:) That will never change:)
USC will be a classic:)

It was Saturday’s game, CFM, you were right, we watched it last night, waiting to view KU basketball, still rooting for Clemson.

Ohio State got into the playoffs without winning their division or their conference last year.

Only to an Alabama fan it wasn't. Why didn't Saban talk about the win he had over powerhouse Mercer? Alabama didn't have a win against a single team currently in the top 15. Ohio State has 2.

Apparently the selection committee sees the loss to Iowa as a big deal, whether you do or not.

And they should not have been there:(
And Alabama shouldn't be there this year... But it's ok...
I've told you in the past. I have no problem with people who are true fans...
We always cheer for our team...no matter what:)
Two great football schools with amazing fans...
There's no need to argue about this;)

Well said. Fans cheer for their teams. I am sure both Bama and the Buckeyes will be in future playoffs.

If you knew it was Saturday's game, and you were watching a replay, why didn't you just say that?:)

I don't doubt that at all:)
Actually, I wish they would go at least an 8 team playoff system....
Maybe we'll see that someday in the future...:)
I'll be cheering for the Tide over you know who:)

So now number of wins is the most important? You keep proving what I say. When you can use it to back up your claims about Alabama, it's an important factor but when it comes to not helping them, we get the excuses as to why (fill in the blank) factor isn't really that big of a deal. You've done it with the conference championship. When it's brought up that Alabama didn't win their division or conference, you discount it. However, you're on record as having emphasized that OSU didn't win theirs last year but still got in.
