Anna Goldshmidt wanted a wedding that would leave people talking.

Boy, did she get her wish.

On June 13, 2015, she and her groom were to be the stars of an extravagant ceremony and reception at the Waldorf Astoria, with 350 guests in attendance.

Then a gun carried by a cousin of the groom "accidentally went off", injuring four people.

The fairy tale was called off.

Now the Brighton Beach couple is suing the cousin, with the Waldorf named a third-party defendant.

“The damages will far exceed a million dollars,” says the plaintiff’s lawyer, Ben Brafman. “This was a million-dollar wedding.”

An animal shelter in Bristow, Oklahoma, is getting a lot of attention after residents discovered dogs there are being euthanized by gunshot.

Because of the size of the city, Bristow is legally allowed to euthanize however officials see fit as long as they do so humanely, but state law does not clarify what is humane.

Mayor Leonard Washington confirmed that three dogs, including a pit bull, were put down by gunshot in the last week.

Oklahoma law allows municipalities under 10,000 people to use any humane method to put animals down, but it does not define “humane.”

"I was outraged, as well as many other Bristow residents," said animal rescuer Beth Roberst. "I've never been associated with any humane society or shelther ever that's used this practice. ... It needs to be humanely done, compassionately, not with a bullet."
